Introduction : le cancer du sein est le second cancer le plus fréquent dans le monde et son incidence a augmenté ces dernières années dans la Somme. D'autre part, peu d'études se sont intéressées au délai de prise en charge de ces cancers. Notre objectif était d'étudier les variations du délai de prise en charge en fonction du taux d'incidence (TI) du cancer du sein dans la Somme, du mode de découverte, du score EDI (European Deprivation Index), de l'âge, du grade SBR et du stade TNM. Méthode : la participation du registre du cancer du réseau FRANCIM a permis d'obtenir la liste des patientes ayant présenté un cancer du sein entre 2004 et 2014 dans la Somme. Le critère principal était le délai de prise en charge, entre la mammographie de dépistage et le premier traitement, étudié dans un modèle de régression linéaire multiple. Résultat : 1690 patientes étaient incluses dans l'étude, avec pour moyenne d'âge 62 ans [écart-type : 13,8] et 3 modes de découverte du cancer possibles : dépistage individuel, organisé ou présence de signes cliniques. Le test de corrélation a montré un lien significatif entre le TI et le délai de prise en charge (p=0.0004). Après ajustement sur l'âge, le mode de découverte, le stade TNM et le grade SBR, le modèle de régression linéaire multiple a montré une augmentation du délai de prise en charge de 0.27% [0.001 ; 0.005] pour une augmentation de 1/100 000 du TI. Par ailleurs, l'étude n'a pas mis en évidence de corrélation entre le délai de prise en charge et le score EDI (p=0.29). Conclusion : l'étude a mis en évidence une augmentation du délai de prise en charge lorsque le taux d'incidence augmentait.

'Being Alive Well': Health and the Politics of Cree Well-Being is a critical medical anthropological analysis of health theory in the social sciences with specific reference to the James Bay Cree of northern Quebec. In it the author argues that definitions of health are not simply reflections of physiological soundness but convey broader cultural and political realities. The book begins with a treatise on the study of health in the social sciences and a call for a broader understanding of the cultural parameters of any definition of health.
