Book Description
Legend says that in the dawn of time, Prometheus created two beings. First were the humans, and he gave them fire. Then he breathed life into the Viscerebus, giving them superhuman abilities and the power to shapeshift. The Vis hunt for sustenance, the humans for survival. After humans dominated the planet with their superior numbers and weapons of mass destruction, the Viscerebus allowed their existence to fade into legends and folklore. Anza is an Erdia, a half-human, half-Viscerebus longing for a life of simple freedom. She leaves behind her privileged but restricted secret life to go after what she wants: make friends and live openly as a human away from her Viscerebus family. Veren is an Iztari, a young Viscerebus warrior with something to prove, a goal to achieve, and a path to follow. He is tasked to bring Anza back safely to her family. To do that, he must gain her trust. But when their paths cross, the two face a difficult choice between her dreams, his goals, and the love they didn't ask for. Theirs is a tale of love and sacrifice only beings like them are capable of. A love that can transcend space and time.

Book Description
This groundbreaking collection includes thirteen essays from historians, sociologists, and anthropologists who discuss transgendered females and same-sex desire among women in Asia, Latin America, Native North America, and Africa. Offering compelling evidence against the commonly accepted notion that non-Western women are generally passive victims of male domination and compulsory heterosexuality, these essays on lesbian desire in ancient and modern India, butch-femme social types in Indonesia and Peru, and the lesbian movement in Mexico dispel the myth that same-sex female desire is rooted in Western neo-imperialist culture.

Book Description
An interdisciplinary examination of the strategies GLBTQ communities have used to advocate for political, social, and cultural change Queerly Remembered investigates the ways in which gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer (GLBTQ) individuals and communities have increasingly turned to public tellings of their ostensibly shared pasts in order to advocate for political, social, and cultural change in the present. Much like nations, institutions, and other minority groups before them, GLBTQ people have found communicating their past(s)—particularly as expressed through the concept of memory—a rich resource for leveraging historical and contemporary opinions toward their cause. Drawing from the interdisciplinary fields of rhetorical studies, memory studies, gay and lesbian studies, and queer theory, Thomas R. Dunn considers both the ephemeral tactics and monumental strategies that GLBTQ communities have used to effect their queer persuasion. More broadly this volume addresses the challenges and opportunities posed by embracing historical representations of GLBTQ individuals and communities as a political strategy. Particularly for a diverse community whose past is marked by the traumas of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, the forgetting and destruction of GLBTQ history, and the sometimes-divisive representational politics of fluid, intersectional identities, portraying a shared past is an exercise fraught with conflict despite its potential rewards. Nonetheless, by investigating rich rhetorical case studies through time and across diverse artifacts—including monuments, memorials, statues, media publications, gravestones, and textbooks—Queerly Remembered reveals that our current queer "turn toward memory" is a complex, enduring, and avowedly rich rhetorical undertaking.
