Dancing with the Diamond Star - The Inner Light that knows
Author: Daria Kathleen Sherman PhD
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 0359412262
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 35
Book Description
This is an inspirational Children's Book! "Gaslighting" is a term known in the counseling fields. Unfortunately gaslighting happens in relationships often without intention to harm another. For example, a child notices that their parent is upset about something. When the child asks the parent about this the parent tells the child that nothing is wrong. As a result, the response from the parent doesn't match what the child feels to be true. The child then questions their own perceptions. A better response from the parent would be to acknowledge the truth that they are upset and that it is okay to have upset feelings from time to time without going into the details of why. While it is important for children to listen to their parents and teachers, it is equally important to encourage the child to listen to their own inner guidance. The Children's Book Dancing with the Diamond Star -the inner light that knows - is a beautiful reminder that the Light of Wisdom and Love lives in each of us.

Category : Fiction

Pages : 750
Book Description
Del was a rock singer. He was also the renegade son of the Ruby Dynasty, which made his career choice less than respectable, and gave him more to worry about than getting gigs and not getting cheated by recording companies, club owners, or his agent. For one thing, the Ruby Dynasty ruled the Skolian Imperialate, an interstellar Empire, which had recently had a war with another empire, the Eubian Concord. For another, Del was singing on Earth, which was part of a third interstellar civilization, and one which had an uneasy relationship with the Imperialate. Del undeniably had talent, and was rapidly rising from an unknown fringe artist to stardom. But, with his life entangled in the politics of three interstellar civilizations, whether he wanted that or not, talent might not be enough. And that factor might have much more effect than his music on the lives of trillions of people on the thousands of inhabited worlds across the galaxy. At the publisher's request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management).

To Dance with Kings
Author: Rosalind Laker
Publisher: Crown
ISBN: 0307394301
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 626
Book Description
An epic generational tale of loves lost, promises kept, dreams broken, and monarchies shattered, To Dance with Kings is a story of passion and privilege, humble beginnings and limitless ambition. On a May morning in 1664, in the small village of Versailles, as hundreds of young aristocrats are coming to pay court to King Louis XIV, a peasant fan-maker gives birth to her first and only child, Marguerite. Determined to give her daughter a better life than the one she herself has lived, the young mother vows to break the newborn’s bonds of poverty and ensure that she fulfills her destiny—to dance with kings. Purely by chance, a drunken nobleman witnesses the birth and makes a reckless promise to return for Marguerite in seventeen years. With those fateful words, events are set into motion that will span three monarchies, affecting the lives of four generations of women. Marguerite becomes part of the royal court of the Sun King, but her fairy-tale existence is torn out from under her by a change of political winds. Jasmin, Marguerite’s daughter, is born to the life of privilege her grandmother dreamed of, but tempts fate by daring to catch the eye of the king. Violette, Marguerite’s granddaughter, is drawn to the nefarious side of life among the nobles at Versailles. And Rose, Violette’s daughter, becomes a lady-in-waiting and confidante to Marie Antoinette. Through Rose, a love lost generations before will come full circle, even as the ground beneath Versailles begins to rumble with the chaos of the coming revolution.
