Book Description
Daily Intentions is a collection of intuitively written meditations that offers the reader a gentle, spiritual, and thoughtful approach in dealing with everyday problems, difficult emotions, and the high-tech stressors common to us all. Each daily entry reveals an insight accompanied by a simple, spiritual, practical solution or a universal truth that can be easily understood by anyone. Every word in Daily Intentions has been divinely inspired and will, in turn, inspire those who read the book, whether they are beginning spiritual seekers, well-seasoned seekers who are already traveling a spiritual path, or those that maintain no particular belief in any Primary Universal Source. The daily entries may serve as a reminder of what the reader already knows deep within his or her soul, as well as offer ways to rediscover their own truth by using the simple techniques suggested in much of the book. Most of the techniques are short meditations and holistic approaches, experientially tested and proven, not only by the author, but also by millions of others throughout history.

Book Description
"Today I Choose" is a daily inspiration guide to help you live an intentional life. Part inspirational, part journal, part oracle, "Today I Choose" invites the reader to develop the habit of intention setting through these 365 suggestions. "The habit of setting a daily intention is a powerful spiritual practice. I've made it a part of my daily ritual for years. Before I started, I had been doing a lot of study and testing around the power of intention; not in the "law of attraction... I'm going to manifest everything I want" way. But more in the, "I'm co-creating with my Divine and I'm going to live actively in that practice" way. For me, intention is a message to Spirit. It's me saying, "Use me. I'm ready. I'm working with you, not against you." So by choosing every day, I'm sending a message to the Universe: I'm ready to co-create with you. This daily practice has changed my life. I start each day by making a choice as to how I'm going to live. I set an intention for how I will look at the world, how I will act in the world, what I might feel, and how I want to show up for my family, friends, and self. Some days, I'm true to my choice. Other days, I fall flat on my face within minutes of choosing. My invitation to you with this book is to simply start - to start living your life with intention and as a result may you find yourself in active co-creation with Source." Melissa Bingham is a spiritual teacher, intuitive guide, writer, artist, wife and mother. Her intention is to share the spiritual practices from her years training and her life in order to serve yours - practices she's developed as a licensed spiritual practitioner with her clients, as a wife and mother in daily life; as a business owner with clients, employees and vendors; and in every other role she plays. Book Description
“I’m trying to meditate one day but urgent thoughts keep intruding. Don’t forget to take cupcakes to school! I have to prepare for my presentation for the wellness conference! Is that lunch with the other moms tomorrow or next week? My to-do list is stampeding through my mind, trampling any chance of tranquility. I feel overwhelmed, yes, but there’s more: I feel…guilty. Guilty that I’m taking on too much, guilty that I’m not doing anything well, guilty that I’m giving short shrift to my kids, my husband, my job. And what about you, Mallika? a quiet voice asks. How are you shortchanging yourself?” Living with Intent is a chronicle of Mallika Chopra’s search to find more meaning, joy, and balance in life. She hopes that by telling her story, she can inspire others with her own successes (and failures) as well as share some of the wisdom she has gathered from friends, experts, and family along the way—people like her dad, Deepak, as well as Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson, Arianna Huffington, Andrew Weil, and Dan Siegel. She also provides a practical road map for how we can all move from thought to action to outcome. Each chapter is devoted to one step on her journey and another piece of her INTENT action plan: Incubate, Notice, Trust, Express, Nurture, and Take Action. Chopra’s insights and advice will help us all come closer to fully living the lives we truly intend.

Book Description
On the surface, Riverview High School looks like the post-racial ideal. Serving an enviably affluent, diverse, and liberal district, the school is well-funded, its teachers are well-trained, and many of its students are high achieving. Yet Riverview has not escaped the same unrelenting question that plagues schools throughout America: why is it that even when all of the circumstances seem right, black and Latino students continue to lag behind their peers? Through five years' worth of interviews and data-gathering at Riverview, John Diamond and Amanda Lewis have created a rich and disturbing portrait of the achievement gap that persists more than fifty years after the formal dismantling of segregation. As students progress from elementary school to middle school to high school, their level of academic achievement increasingly tracks along racial lines, with white and Asian students maintaining higher GPAs and standardized testing scores, taking more advanced classes, and attaining better college admission results than their black and Latino counterparts. Most research to date has focused on the role of poverty, family stability, and other external influences in explaining poor performance at school, especially in urban contexts. Diamond and Lewis instead situate their research in a suburban school, and look at what factors within the school itself could be causing the disparity. Most crucially, they challenge many common explanations of the 'racial achievement gap,' exploring what race actually means in this situation, and why it matters. An in-depth study with far-reaching consequences, Despite the Best Intentions revolutionizes our understanding of both the knotty problem of academic disparities and the larger question of the color line in American society.

Book Description
"With lucidity and elegance, Zukav explains that we are evolving from a species that pursues power based upon the perceptions of the five senses -- external power -- into a species that pursues authentic power -- power that is based upon the perceptions and values of the spirit. He shows how the pursuit of external power has produced our survival-of-the-fittest understanding of evolution, generated conflict between lovers, communities, and superpowers, and brought us to the edge of destruction. Using his scientist's eye and philosopher's heart, Zukav shows how infusing the activities of life with reverence, compassion, and trust makes them come alive with meaning and purpose. He illustrates how the emerging values of the spirit are changing marriages into spiritual partnerships, psychology into spiritual psychology, and transforming our everyday lives. The Seat of the Soul describes the remarkable journey to the spirit that each of us is on."--Amazon.com.
