There are excellent textbooks that provide a detailed history of disease process and a discussion of complex foot and ankle surgery. However, there is very little literature that can guide a surgeon from start to finish in the identification of a disease process through the surgery and postoperative care. This practical knowledge is critical in the care of patients. Our goal to provide the practicing orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist a practical approach to the diagnosis and treatment of the most common foot and ankle pathologies.
