Metcalf-Zier Archaeologists, Inc. conducted an archaeological sampling survey of the eastern portion of Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), Tooele County, Utah. The survey combined a 0.25% random sample of 1,020 acres with a non-random sample of 890 acres. The total acreage inspected is 1,910. Twenty-three sites and 43 isolated finds were recorded. Twenty-one sites are prehistoric (aboriginal), one is historic (Euro-American), and one is multicomponent prehistoric/historic; all isolated finds are prehistoric. Prehistoric sites exhibit a temporal span from Paleo-Indian through Sevier/Fremont. Historic sites date to the late 19th and/or early 20th centuries.
