Despite the move of most organizations towards globalization, many people in the organization remain insensitive towards cultural differences. They somehow fail to respect differences because they believe that it is the duty of the minority to adapt to the dominant culture and not the other way around. Cultural blindness could also be an indirect effect of rampant discrimination towards the minorities. However in the perspective of the General Power theory, the coined term, cultural blindness has an altogether different meaning. Paul Fudulu a professor from University of Bucharest has come with an alternative to Weber's rationalism, for explaining the economic performance of a culture.

The book examines some of the dilemmas surrounding Europe’s open borders, migrations, and identities through the prism of the Roma – Europe’s most dispersed and socially marginalised population. The volume challenges some of the myths surrounding the Roma as a ‘problem population’, and places the focus instead on the context of European policy and identity debates. It comes to the conclusion that the migration of Roma and the constitution of their communities is shaped by European policy as much as, and often more so, than by the cultural traits of the Roma themselves. The chapters compare case studies of Roma migrants in Spain, Italy, France, and Britain and the impact of migration on the origin communities in Romania. The study combines historical and ethnographic methods with insights from migration studies, drawing on a unique multi-site collaborative project that for the first time gave Roma participants a voice in shaping research into their communities. As a direct result of an international conference organized in the year 2021, the volume tries to shed light on the way in which the translation activity contributed to the Romanian culture and language, drawing from different traditions and cultures it came in contact with (directly or indirectly), and thus mingling the own Slavonic church tradition with the new and revolutionary ideas of the Western world and using this mix to modernise the society, language and the politics in this region. This book explains and theorises the ways in which family policy instruments come to shape the routine care arrangements of young children. Drawing on interviews with close to a hundred parents from very different walks of life in urban and rural Romania, the book provides a rich account of the care arrangement transitions these parents experience during their children’s first five years of life. The influence of family policies emerges as complex and uneven, affecting childcare decisions both directly and indirectly by contributing to the reproduction and legitimation of age-related hierarchies of care ideals. These cultural artefacts, reflective of both longstanding institutional legacies and recent policy innovations between 2006 and 2015, are the prism through which mothers and fathers from diverse backgrounds view and make decisions about their children’s care.
