Book Description
LA PREMIERE PARTIE DU MEMOIRE DECRIT LE DEVELOPPEMENT D'ALGORITHMES ORIGINAUX TRES RAPIDES DE GENERATION DES CATALOGUES NECESSAIRES A LA QUANTIFICATION VECTORIELLE. UNE COMPARAISON DE NOS ALGORITHMES AVEC LES ALGORITHMES CLASSIQUES EST EGALEMENT REALISEE. ENSUITE, NOUS PROPOSONS UNE METHODE DE QUANTIFICATION VECTORIELLE HIERARCHIQUE ADAPTEE A L'ANALYSE DE L'IMAGE EN SOUS-BANDES. APRES DECOMPOSITION PYRAMIDALE DE L'IMAGE EN IMAGE SOUS-BANDES, ON PROCEDE A LA QUANTIFICATION VECTORIELLE DIRECTIONNELLE DES SOUS-BANDES AVEC DES MOTS CODES DE FORME ET DE TAILLE ADAPTEES A LA RESOLUTION ET A LA DIRECTION DES DETAILS. LA DEUXIEME PARTIE DE CE MEMOIRE DEFINIT UNE ARCHITECTURE ORIGINALE DE CIRCUIT CMOS A GRANDE ECHELLE D'INTEGRATION POUR LA QUANTIFICATION VECTORIELLE. LE DEBIT D'ENTREE MAXIMAL A ETE FIXE A 15 MPIXELS/SECONDE, AFIN DE S'INTEGRER DANS LA LIGNEE DES CIRCUITS EXISTANTS TOUT EN RESTANT DANS UN DOMAINE DE FAISABILITE ACCEPTABLE. SEUL UN PARALLELISME MASSIF PEUT SATISFAIRE LA CONTRAINTE DE VITESSE. CEPENDANT, POUR LIMITER LA SURFACE DE SILICIUM, NOUS AVONS PROPOSE UN TRAITEMENT ORIGINAL AVEC UNE ARCHITECTURE BIT-SERIE PIPELINE ET UN FORT PARALLELISME AU NIVEAU DU CALCUL DES DISTANCES. L'ARCHITECTURE DE CE CIRCUIT A ETE BREVETEE (BREVET D'INVENTION N 9402482)

Book Description
CETTE THESE A POUR BUT D'UNE PART LA COMPRESSION DE DONNEES SANS PERTE D'INFORMATION, ET D'AUTRE PART LA COMPRESSION D'IMAGES FIXES. LA COMPRESSION DE DONNEES EST BASEE SUR UNE MODELISATION MARKOVIENNE ADAPTATIVE D'ORDRE VARIABLE REALISEE PAR L'ALGORITHME DU CONTEXTE QUI APPROXIME LA COMPLEXITE STOCHASTIQUE DE LA SOURCE EN UTILISANT LE PRINCIPE DE LA LONGUEUR DE DESCRIPTION MINIMALE (LDM). LE CODAGE EST OBTENU PAR UN CODAGE ARITHMETIQUE MULTI-NIVEAUX. NOUS NOUS ATTACHONS DANS UN PREMIER TEMPS, A MINIMISER L'OCCUPATION MEMOIRE EN APPLIQUANT LE PRINCIPE DE LA LDM AU DEVELOPPEMENT DU MODELE. NOUS MONTRONS DANS UN DEUXIEME TEMPS QUE L'APPLICATION DIFFERENTIELLE DE LA LDM POUR LE CHOIX DES NUDS DE CODAGE PERMET D'OPTIMISER LA GESTION DU MODELE EN ARBRE. NOUS MONTRONS ENFIN QUE L'ALGORITHME AINSI MODIFIE PERMET D'ATTEINDRE LES TAUX DE COMPRESSION LES PLUS ELEVES A L'HEURE ACTUELLE ET CE POUR UN ENSEMBLE DE SOURCES MULTI-MEDIA ET UNE COMPLEXITE MOYENNE. NOUS AVONS ADOPTE POUR LA COMPRESSION DES IMAGES FIXES UNE DECOMPOSITION EN SOUS-BANDES PAR LES FILTRES DE JOHNSTON. DANS LE CADRE D'UN CODAGE A FAIBLE COMPLEXITE DES SIGNAUX DE SOUS-BANDE PAR QUANTIFICATION ET DPCM, NOUS INTRODUISONS UN ALGORITHME D'ALLOCATION DES RESSOURCES DE CODAGE A FACTEUR PSYCHOVISUEL. NOUS PROPOSONS ENSUITE, UN CODAGE PAR QUANTIFICATION VECTORIELLE PREDICTIVE. NOUS REDUISONS ALORS LA TAILLE MEMOIRE REQUISE POUR LE STOCKAGE DU REPERTOIRE PAR L'UTILISATION D'UN REPERTOIRE LINEAIRE QUE NOUS RENDONS EN PARTIE ADAPTATIF. ENFIN, NOUS MONTRONS QUE LE CODAGE ENTROPIQUE PAR L'ALGORITHME DU CONTEXTE DES SIGNAUX CODES PERMET UNE DIMINUTION MOYENNE DU DEBIT DE L'ORDRE DE 30% SANS PERTE DE QUALITE. APPLIQUE DIRECTEMENT AUX SIGNAUX DE SOUS-BANDES, NOUS OBTENONS DES IMAGES DE QUALITE EXCEPTIONNELLE POUR DES DEBITS COMPRIS ENTRE 1 ET 1.5 BITS/PIXEL

Book Description
This new, third volume of Cohen-Tannoudji's groundbreaking textbook covers advanced topics of quantum mechanics such as uncorrelated and correlated identical particles, the quantum theory of the electromagnetic field, absorption, emission and scattering of photons by atoms, and quantum entanglement. Written in a didactically unrivalled manner, the textbook explains the fundamental concepts in seven chapters which are elaborated in accompanying complements that provide more detailed discussions, examples and applications. * Completing the success story: the third and final volume of the quantum mechanics textbook written by 1997 Nobel laureate Claude Cohen-Tannoudji and his colleagues Bernard Diu and Franck Laloë * As easily comprehensible as possible: all steps of the physical background and its mathematical representation are spelled out explicitly * Comprehensive: in addition to the fundamentals themselves, the books comes with a wealth of elaborately explained examples and applications Claude Cohen-Tannoudji was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris where he also studied and received his PhD in 1962. In 1973 he became Professor of atomic and molecular physics at the Collège des France. His main research interests were optical pumping, quantum optics and atom-photon interactions. In 1997, Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, together with Steven Chu and William D. Phillips, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his research on laser cooling and trapping of neutral atoms. Bernard Diu was Professor at the Denis Diderot University (Paris VII). He was engaged in research at the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and High Energy where his focus was on strong interactions physics and statistical mechanics. Franck Laloë was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. His first assignment was with the University of Paris VI before he was appointed to the CNRS, the French National Research Center. His research was focused on optical pumping, statistical mechanics of quantum gases, musical acoustics and the foundations of quantum mechanics.

Book Description
This book deals with a wide class of novel and efficient adaptive signal processing techniques developed to restore signals from noisy and degraded observations. These signals include those acquired from still or video cameras, electron microscopes, radar, X-rays, or ultrasound devices, and are used for various purposes, including entertainment, medical, business, industrial, military, civil, security, and scientific. In many cases useful information and high quality must be extracted from the imaging. However, often raw signals are not directly suitable for this purpose and must be processed in some way. Such processing is called signal reconstruction. This book is devoted to a recent and original approach to signal reconstruction based on combining two independent ideas: local polynomial approximation and the intersection of confidence interval rule.

Book Description
Graph data modeling and querying arises in many practical application domains such as social and biological networks where the primary focus is on concepts and their relationships and the rich patterns in these complex webs of interconnectivity. In this book, we present a concise unified view on the basic challenges which arise over the complete life cycle of formulating and processing queries on graph databases. To that purpose, we present all major concepts relevant to this life cycle, formulated in terms of a common and unifying ground: the property graph data model—the pre-dominant data model adopted by modern graph database systems. We aim especially to give a coherent and in-depth perspective on current graph querying and an outlook for future developments. Our presentation is self-contained, covering the relevant topics from: graph data models, graph query languages and graph query specification, graph constraints, and graph query processing. We conclude by indicating major open research challenges towards the next generation of graph data management systems.
