Le schéma corporel est un référentiel en perpétuelle construction sur lequel l' individu s' appuie pour s' orienter, se mouvoir et entrer en relation. Notion au coeur de la prise en charge psychomotrice, le test du schéma corporel de C. Meljac, M. Stambak et J. Bergès se révèle être un outil original et essentiel dans l' évaluation préalable à toute thérapie. Le réétalonnage est donc l' occasion d' une mise à jour fondamentale de cet instrument mais aussi d' une étude plus générale du développement de la connaissance du schéma corporel chez l' enfant. Notre recherche, qui concerne exclusivement les enfants d' âge maternel, confirme l' intérêt d' utiliser un instrument tel que le test du Schéma Corporel en plus du dessin du bonhomme dans l' évaluation de la connaissance du corps chez l' enfant. Il ressort également que de manière globale, les enfants obtiennent des résultats en 2009 supérieurs d'un an à ceux des enfants du premier étalonnage en 1966. Enfin, il semble que les différences entre les garçons et les filles semblent d' avantage s' observer dans la construction du schéma corporel et non dans les résultats globaux qui se révèlent équivalents à 5 ans pour les deux sexes.
