Decision-making has evolved recently thanks to the introduction of information and communication technologies in many organizations, which has led to new kinds of decision-making processes, called “collaborative decision-making”, at the organizational and cognitive levels. This book looks at the development of the decision-making process in organizations. Decision-aiding and its paradigm of problem solving are defined, showing how decision-makers now need to work in a cooperative way. Definitions of cooperation and associated concepts such as collaboration and coordination are given and a framework of cooperative decision support systems is presented, including intelligent DSS, cooperative knowledge-based systems, workflow, group support systems, collaborative engineering, integrating with a collaborative decision-making model in part or being part of global projects. L'environnement des organisations est actuellement l'objet de mutations profondes. Un aspect de cette évolution est constitué par l'intégration progressive, à des niveaux différents, des systèmes informatiques et à la mise en place de systèmes d'information en réseau. L'analyse de cette intégration conduit, pour structurer les idées, à la décrire en quatre groupes: l'intégration des équipements, l'intégration des données, l'intégration des applications et l'intégration de l'exploitation. On s'intéresse ici à l'intégration des données, de grande importante stratégique pour les organisations. Le besoin d'intégration de ces données résulte du fait qu'elles peuvent être réparties tant à l'intérieur qu'a l'extérieur sur des sites parfois lointains, avec des structures et des modes d'accès différents. Ces différences nécessitent non seulement de disposer d'outils pour accéder aux données, mais aussi de pouvoir faire évoluer ces outils en fonction des sources d'information. Ce double problème est abordé par l'approche SIAD (systèmes interactifs d'aide à la décision) et générateur de SIAD. En effet, ces systèmes proposent une structure interne (base de données, modèles de traitement, dialogue avec l'utilisateur) capable d'évolutions logicielles et matérielles. Sur cette base il restait à développer un outil de communication avec des serveurs de données éloignées. Comme domaine d'expérimentation pour ce développement, on a choisi l'information boursière, justement caractérisée par sa disponibilité extérieure à l'organisation, et la nécessité, pour les gestionnaires d'obtenir les données en temps réel. On a utilisé un générateur de SIAD particulier, développé précédemment à l'université de Paris Dauphine sous le nom de CAOSG (conception assistée par ordinateur de systèmes de gestion). Ce système est opérationnel et dispose des fonctionnalités nécessaires à la construction d'applications de gestion. On l'a doté de capacités d'accès à des serveurs d'extraction de données lointaines hétérogènes, et de restitution de ces données sur le système interne.
