Book Description
Pulpal therapy in primary dentition is more challenging and difficult than in adult due to the behaviour management problems in children, limited opening of the mouth, complexities of the root canal system such as presence of fine and tortuous canals, accessory canals, lateral canals, anastomoses etc in primary molar and danger of injuring the underlying permanent tooth bud. However, these can be overcome with patience, skill and considerable clinical acumen. The pulpal therapy in primary teeth includes indirect pulp capping, direct pulp capping, pulpotomy and pulpectomy. But due to the time bound constraints, it is difficult to perform an in-vivo study of various pulpal therapy used in primary teeth. Thus this study is designed for pulpectomy in primary teeth.

Book Description
This clinical guide, featuring a wealth of high-quality photographs, will help pediatric dentists, pediatric dentistry residents and general dental practitioners treating children, acquire a clear understanding of contemporary treatment protocols for primary and young permanent teeth while serving as a guide to integrate these procedures into their private or institutional practice. The background to the book is the emergence in recent years of important paradigm shifts in treatment concepts. It is now recognized that clinicians must distinguish between “caries management” and “carious lesion management” when treating children. Book Description
This book provides dental professionals with a clear understanding of current clinical and scientific knowledge on the various aspects of pulp treatment for both primary and young permanent teeth. Diagnostic parameters are clearly presented, along with step-by-step descriptions of clinical procedures, including indirect and direct pulp treatments, pulpotomy, and pulpectomy. The rationale for the materials used in each technique and their individual merits and disadvantages are examined in detail. In the case of pulpotomy, all the materials used since the introduction of this treatment modality are discussed (e.g., formocresol, glutaraldehyde, ferric sulfate, and MTA) and the roles of sodium hypochlorite, electrofulguration, and laser therapy are elucidated. Special attention is devoted to pulpectomy and root canal treatment, with consideration of debriding and obturation techniques, rinsing solutions, and root-filling pastes. A further individual chapter is dedicated to restorations of teeth treated with the different types of pulp therapy. The various conservative treatment modalities are also presented, including specific treatments for immature nonvital permanent teeth. The concluding chapter looks to the future and the potential value of stem cells in pulp therapy.

Book Description
Primary teeth are natural space maintainers which should be preserved till their physiological exfoliation. Pulpectomy is a conservative treatment option to salvage infected primary teeth. However, primary teeth with their bizarre root canals that undergo continued secondary dentin deposition and physiological root resorption combined with pathological changes present a significant endodontic challenge especially during obturation. The obturation technique used should ensure a hermetic seal and at the same time prevent extrusion of the obturation material which would be detrimental to the successor teeth. This book discusses various obturation techniques for primary teeth root canals and summarize the evidence . It was found that various factors like obturation material used, location of teeth in the oral cavity, canal anatomy, handling characteristics, cost and treatment time play an important role in the clinician’s choice of obturation technique. Therefore, there is no single technique that can be recommended as ‘ideal’ for obturation.
