Still further up the Potomac River between Dogue and Little Hunting Creeks, the settlement of the Spencer/Washington tract is described from the 1690's through George Washington's final acquisitions of Mount Vernon in the 1780's. The identities of those who acquired land and settled on the lower Occoquan River from 1660's to 1730's and their connections by marriage and blood are revealed.
