Book Description
This book contains valuable information on coffee, chocolate, tea and sodas. All have no health benefits and are addictive; and of course very harmful to your body in many other ways. The good news is instead of giving up these four stimulants, replace them! My replacements all have health benefits and look similar; but taste better, have no side effects; so there is no reason to consume the harmful coffee, teas, Chocolate and sodas. Usually sodas are high in sugar, contain phosphoric acid in addition, other chemicals. Teas are high in caffeine; also have pesticides, and are loaded with other chemicals. By drinking clean water and freshly squeezed juices your body will enjoy these natural substances. Coffee and chocolate have insect fragments and rodent hairs with fifty to seventy five fragments per spoon; and both are high in caffeine. There are more reasons to replace the above. It did not take me very long to change based on just some of the information contained in this book. This can be accomplished with ease. Coffee, chocolates, teas, and sodas replaced!
The Acid–Alkaline Diet for Optimum Health
Author: Christopher Vasey
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1594778973
Category : Health & Fitness
Languages : en
Pages : 115
Book Description
With more than 50,000 first-edition copies sold, this expanded second edition provides the latest information on restoring your body’s acid-alkaline balance • Discusses the role of enzyme supplements, prebiotic and probiotic complexes, and antioxidants in neutralizing and eliminating acids • Addresses the relationship of proper hydration to essential enzyme activity and acid elimination • Outlines a sample alkaline detoxification diet Most people consume an abundance of highly processed foods that acidify the body. As a result, they are afflicted with health problems ranging from minor skin irritations, chronic fatigue, back pain, and depression to arthritis, ulcers, and osteoporosis. To enjoy optimum health, the body needs balanced quantities of alkaline and acid substances. In The Acid-Alkaline Diet for Optimum Health, naturopath and detoxification expert Christopher Vasey shows how a simple change in diet to restore your acid-alkaline balance can result in vast improvements in health. With two new chapters, this updated and expanded second edition provides the latest information on proper hydration and deacidification, important alkalizing supplements, and how to eliminate the body’s accumulated acids through intestinal cleansing. It also includes a new, detailed example of an alkaline detoxifying diet. Rather than organizing alkaline and acid foods based on their chemical composition, Vasey categorizes foods by their effect on the body, explaining that some foods, such as fruits, can have either an alkalizing or an acidifying effect, depending on who eats them. He describes how to determine your acid levels and how to design a diet best suited for your particular health needs.

The World of Caffeine
Author: Bennett Alan Weinberg
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1135958173
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 428
Book Description
Caffeine is the world's most popular drug! Almost all of us start our day with a jolt of caffeine from coffee, tea or cola. And many of us crave chocolate when we're stressed or depressed. Without it we're lethargic, head-achy and miserable. Why? Why do we crave caffeine? How much do we really know about our number one drug of choice? Here is the first natural, cultural, and artistic history of our favorite mood enhancer--how it was discovered, its early uses, and the unexpected parts it has played in medicine, religion, painting, poetry, learning, and love. Weinberg and Bealer tell an intriguing story of a remarkable substance that has figured prominently in the exchanges of trade and intelligence among nations and whose most common sources, coffee, tea, and chocolate, have been both promoted as productive of health and creativity and banned as corrupters of the body and mind or subverters of social order. Some Highlights From the World of Caffeine Balzac's addiction to caffeine drove him to eat coffee, as some schizophrenic patients are observed to do today, and may have killed him Mary Tuke breaks the male monopoly on tea in England in 1725 The ways caffeine functions as a smart pill Goethe's responsibility for the discovery of caffeine Did a mini Ice Age help bring coffee, tea and chocolate to popularity in Europe? What is the mystery of coffee's origin? As good as gold: the stories of how caffeine, in its various forms, was used as cash in China, Africa, Central America and Egypt What does the civet cat have to do with the most costly coffee on earth today? The World of Caffeine is a captivating tale of art and society -- from India to Balzac to cybercafes -- and the ultimate caffeine resource.
