Book Description
Verde Que Te Quiero Verde is an anthology of poems after Federico Garcia Lorca, the great Spanish poet. It is filled with poems in English (with two in Spanish with translation). The authors reflect on Lorca or embody his spirit as they consider what is happening in the world around them right now. Lorca himself was assassinated in 1936 for being who he was--an artist and a rabble-rouser. He refused to conform. Let's refuse with him. Contributors include: Sandra Alcosser, Ralph Angel, Arlene Biala, Lorna Knowles Blake, Jolene Brink, Heather Cahoon, Eduardo Chirinos, Chris Dombrowski, Annie Finch, Henrietta Goodman, Tami Haaland, Katherine Hastings, Claire Hibbs, Bob Kaufman, Adrian Kien, Keetje Kuipers, Romy LeClaire Loran, Antonio Machado, Kaylen Mallard, Tod Marshall, Rachel Mindell, Sharon Olds, Natalie Peeterse, Amy Ratto Parks, Shann Ray, Ryan Scariano, Karin Schalm, Daniel E. Book Description
Environmental collapse. The betrayals and alliances of the animal world. A father who works in a timber mill. The celebrities in our feeds, the stories we tell ourselves. Loss, never-ending loss. Self-Portrait with Cephalopod—selected by francine j. harris as winner of the Jake Adam York Prize—is an account of being a girl, and then a woman, in the world; of being a living creature on a doomed planet; of being someone who aspires to do better but is torn between attention and distraction. Here, Kathryn Smith offers observations and anxieties, prophecies and prayers, darkness and light—but never false hope. Instead, she incises our vanities and our hypocrisies, “the bloody hand holding back / the skin,” revealing “the world’s inner workings, / rubbery and caught between the teeth.” These are the poems of someone who feels her and our failings in the viscera, in the bones, and who bears witness to that pain on the page. Self-Portrait with Cephalopod is an urgent and necessary collection about living in this precarious moment, meditative and resolutely unsentimental.

Book Description
Over 1500 years ago, all that was steeped in magic was hidden from humanity. Today, magic is the stuff of myth...or so Rebecca Bray thinks. She has always ignored things of fantasy, concentrating on reality. Yet after a traumatic life event, Rebecca is seeing and interacting with things that shouldn’t be there. She wonders if she might be going crazy. Some kind of power has awakened inside her and, if she doesn't find someone to explain what is happening, it will destroy her. Llyr Loegaire has earned the title of Hunter. His first assignment is to eliminate a novice magic user as part of the first stage of his people’s invasion of Earth. What should have been a quick mission is complicated when he is magically prevented from killing his target. He must now stay near her, maintaining a façade of friendship, as he tries to find a way to complete his orders.

Book Description
We are told that in the very beginning, "Heaven and Earth were not yet separated, and the In and Yo not yet divided." This reminds us of other cosmogony stories. The In and Yo, corresponding to the Chinese Yang and Yin, were the male and female principles. It was more convenient for the old Japanese writers to imagine them coming into creation not very remote from their manner of birth. In Polynesian mythology, we find pretty much the same conception, where Rangi and Papa represented Heaven and Earth, and further parallels may be found in Egyptian and other cosmogony stories. We find the male and female principles taking a prominent, and after all, very rational, place in nearly all.
