Book Description
Mike and Jack walked down the path to the beverage cart but didn't see anyone attending the beverage cart. "Well, someone must have parked it here," Jack said, looking over the stocked beverage cart and opening a few containers to inspect the contents. Jack walked around the back of the beverage cart and noticed some sneakers behind a bush. "Mike, look over here," he said. They pulled back the bush and immediately Mike turned and ran a few feet. He bent over and violently vomited from the sight of what he had just witnessed. Sandy Creek Country Club is thrust into the center of a horrific scandal when one of its cart girls is found murdered on the thirteenth hole of the golf course. Lieutenant Ron Carr, the lead investigator on the case, struggles to connect the meager evidence to any of the suspects. Lieutenant Carr receives help from the county medical examiner, Dr. Jean Loreno, an attractive single mother who is looking for a father for her son, Jake. Carr and Loreno spend hours together examining the evidence and interrogating the long list of suspects-and everyone is a suspect. The two begin to develop feelings for each other, but will the grueling task of solving the murder get in the way of their growing relationship?

Book Description
The girls on the prowl in The Terrible Girls are indeed terrible—relentless in love, ruthless in betrayal. These thematically linked stories depict a contemporary Gothic world in which body parts are traded for love, wounds never heal, and self-sacrifice is often the only way out. "In this brilliantly original work, Rebecca Brown gives us haunting parables of betrayal and love, of loss and resurrection, of loneliness and solidarity. Like a modern Djuna Barnes, Brown creates a language of telling that is fiercely beautiful and honest. This book is a love story unlike any you have read before. Its subversive and passionate transformation carry the lesbian literary voice onto the 21st century."—Joan Nestle "A dry, witty, graceful—if savage—gift."—Mary Gaitskill "The Terrible Girls comes from one of the fiercest, most potent, original writers around: a bloody flayer of skins, both other's and her own . . . a work of possessed and persuasive visionary power."—The Listener "The Terrible Girls is a powerful account of erotic love which exchanges the comforts of illusion for more complex and less certain rewards."—The Times Literary Supplement Rebecca Brown is the winner of the 2003 Washington State Book Award. Her books, which are all published by City Lights, include: The Haunted House, The Terrible Girls, The End of Youth, The Last Time I Saw You, The Dogs and Annie Oakley's Girl. She was awarded a Genius Award and grant from Seattle's weekly magazine, The Stranger.

Book Description
After the worldwide success of Fallen Too Far and its two sequels, Never Too Far and Forever Too Far, Abbi Glines takes her readers back to the beginning with Rush Too Far. Everyone in Rosemary Beach thinks they know how Rush Finlay and Blaire Wynn fell in love. But Rush is back to tell his side of the story... Rush has earned every bit of his bad-boy reputation. The three-story beach house, luxury car, and line of girls begging for time between his sheets are the envy of every guy in Rosemary Beach, and Rush handles it all with the laid-back cool of a rock star’s son. All he needs are his best friend, Grant, and his sister, Nan. Until Blaire Wynn drives into town in her beat-up pickup truck with a pistol under her seat. The Alabama farm girl instantly captures Rush’s attention once he discovers that the angelic beauty is his new stepsister, but he vows to keep his distance. Even if she needs his help. Even if he craves her. Because Rush knows why Blaire is all alone in the world, forced to ask for help from the father who abandoned her three years ago. And he knows if he gets too close it will destroy Nan, who has a secret connection to Blaire. He has every reason in the world to stay away from her. Find out why he doesn’t.
