Book Description
At one time or another, all ministers ask the questions or face the challenges of losing their passion for ministry. This author contends that the major contributor to a loss of passion or interest in ministry in general is burnout. This book consists of two major sections. In the first major section, chapters 2 through 4 are about our vertical relationship with God in terms of our passion to serve, our spirituality, our understanding and practice of rest (Sabbath), and our compatibility. In the second major section, chapters 5 through 7 are about our horizontal relationship with others in terms of our confidence, our management of conflict with others, and our approach to the culture around us.

Book Description
How do the people of a village that is both Chinese and Christian reconcile the contradictions between their religious and ethnic identities? This ethnographic study explores the construction and changing meanings of ethnic identity in Hong Kong. Established at the turn of the century by Hakka Christians who sought to escape hardships and discrimination in China, Shung Him Tong was constructed as an "ideal" Chinese and Christian village. The Hakka Christians translate "traditional" Chinese beliefs—such as ancestral worship and death rituals—that are incompatible with their Christian ideals into secular form, providing a crucial link with the past and with a Chinese identity. Despite accusations to the contrary, these villagers maintain that while they are Christian, they are still Chinese. This title is part of UC Press's Voices Revived program, which commemorates University of California Press’s mission to seek out and cultivate the brightest minds and give them voice, reach, and impact. Drawing on a backlist dating to 1893, Voices Revived makes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarship accessible once again using print-on-demand technology. Book Description
What is the meaning of our human life? If we are not here for the preaching of the gospel and saving souls, then what are we here for? You are working so that you can have food to eat, and you have been eating for so many years, yet it is still the same food. What is there to this? If we are not here for the Lord, what is the meaning of our eating? We cannot be the evil and slothful slaves. We must arise to do the work of reaping by actively preaching the gospel.

Book Description
Driven, altruistic Eden Barrett yearns to bring about social reform using her artistic talent. Unaware of the enemies lurking in her future, when her initial plans go awry, she finds employment as a governess, hoping to continue to hone her talent in her free time. Eden immediately defies tradition when she rescues two climbing boys and houses them on the estate of her new employer. A man of integrity, like-minded in all but one insurmountable aspect, Colin Ashton, Seventh Earl of Edmund, finds the sparks flying as he matches wits with the new governess to his high-spirited, precocious, and controlling sister. He would fire Eden if not for his sister's pleas on her behalf. Eden spurns marriage as a sure way for a female in Regency England's society to become a slave to the will of another. Fully aware, though, that her will and his do not agree and that he is far above her station, she is helplessly drawn to the capable lord. It seems his interest is in a beautiful neighbor, The Honorable Cassandra Bradley, whose brother is obviously taken with Eden. Lives will be transformed in their unforgettable journey of adventure, passionate emotions, and enduring love.
