In the bible passage above, serving people is not serving God. It says because thou hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, they are rebellious. What did they serve, they served other gods .Because they served other gods, God placed a curse on them. He said because they served not the Lord their God, they are serving other gods which is not the true God so curse shall be on them and it shall be upon their seeds.
