Many people are walking in ignorance and they don't seem to have any clue of the devil's operations in the world. When people are blinded to the spiritual reality of life, they would unconsciously open the door for the enemy to penetrate their lives and hold them in bondage. When people are ignorant, they can't see what is going on spiritually, and they become a toy in the hands of the demonic forces. The devil thrives on people's ignorance and if people remain in that ignorance, he is happy because he can then carry out his evil plans without them having any knowledge of what he's doing.
