Resumen: En este proyecto se realizo un analisis del efecto del modelamiento de la dmeanda sobre los indices de confiabilidad de un sistema electrico de potencia. como contribuciones del proyecto se tienen: 1. Se analizan los modelos de demanda mas comunes en estudios de confiabilidad de largo plazo como distribuciones de probabilidad, curvas de duracion de carga, modelos de regresion lineal y modelos discretos basados en promedio estadisticos. 2. Utlilizando dos sistemas de prueba se valoro, mediante simulacion de montecarlo secuencial sincronica y asincronica, el efecto que producen los modelos considerados sobre los indices de confiabilidad y el tiempo computacional. 3. Se hizo un ejemplo de apliacion real utilizando registros de demanda maximos mensuales para un periodo de 29 años. Este trabajo hace parte del proyecto de investigacion "metodologias para la valoracion de confiabilidad en empresas distribuidoras de electricidad", financiando por el centro de investigaciones y extension de la universidad y ejecutando por el grupo de investigacion el planeamiento de sistemas electricos de la universidad.
