Experimental Investigation of Submerged, Incompressible, Turbulent, Impinging Jets
Author: David Tzeh-Hsian Lee
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Jets
Languages : en
Pages : 202
Book Description
Measurements concerning various flow parameters of jets impinging on a smooth lucite plate and a heated metal plate have been carried out. In particular, it is shown that the potential core length of a jet is a function of the Reynolds number and of the jet diameter. It has also been demonstrated that impinging jets behave in many important respects like free jets, except in the immediate vicinity of the target plate. The flow behavior in the wall jet zone was investigated experimentally, and a satisfactory agreement with the results of the previous investigators was found. The maximum velocity decay parameters for a radial wall jet were also investigated analytically, and appear in a good agreement with the experimental results.

Investigation of Synthetic Jets Heat Transfer and Flow Field
Author: Carlo Salvatore Greco
Publisher: Youcanprint
ISBN: 8891187844
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 187
Book Description
Synthetic jets are devices able to “synthetize” a jet from the ambient in which they are embedded through a simple membrane oscillation inside a cavity with an orifice. Such features make them high reliable, silent and easy to be miniaturized. For these reasons, they are widely investigated as electronic cooling devices. The present research is focused on the design and analysis of a different type of synthetic jet device compared to its single classical configuration. Such a device his experimentally characterized through the study of its free and impinging flow field and the evaluation of its heat transfer performance.

Encyclopedia Of Two-phase Heat Transfer And Flow Iii: Macro And Micro Flow Boiling And Numerical Modeling Fundamentals (A 4-volume Set)
Author: John R Thome
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 9813227427
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 1460
Book Description
Set III of this encyclopedia is a new addition to the previous Sets I and II. It contains 26 invited chapters from international specialists on the topics of numerical modeling of two-phase flows and evaporation, fundamentals of evaporation and condensation in microchannels and macrochannels, development and testing of micro two-phase cooling systems for electronics, and various special topics (surface wetting effects, microfin tubes, two-phase flow vibration across tube bundles). The chapters are written both by renowned university researchers and by well-known engineers from leading corporate research laboratories. Numerous 'must read' chapters cover the fundamentals of research and engineering practice on boiling, condensation and two-phase flows, two-phase heat transfer equipment, electronics cooling systems, case studies and so forth. Set III constitutes a 'must have' reference together with Sets I and II for thermal engineering researchers and practitioners.
