This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the requirements for 24° cone flareless fluid connection fittings and nuts, internally or externally swaged, preset, or welded sleeves for use in aircraft fluid systems at nominal operating pressures up to and including 3000 psi. Revision G clarifies: defect descriptions for aluminum material finishes and test requirements for high purity aluminum (HPA) coating to eliminate redundancy with reference documents; qualification approval between 4130 and 15-5PH materials; equivalent materials for PRI QPL lists; pressure rating for size 16 aluminum tubing; provided reference for defect limits on unmachined surfaces. Lists of flareless fitting end standards is made consistent throughout. Adds single point machining requirement on flareless ends. Adds 12 month periodic test interval. Provides lubrication allowance for pneumatic test of similar materials.
