Book Description
Absence Makes the Heart Ponder takes the reader to the center of the known universe, Port Washington, Wisconsin, and into the lives and minds of three thirty-something men as they meet and form a lasting friendship through unusual circumstances. Adventure, intrigue, and romance ensue as they try to balance their personal and work lives while coming to grips with the now looming threat of middle age. Absence Makes the Heart Ponder gives the female reader a glimpse of the male perspective and attempts to answer the age-old question What is going on in his head? with humor and sarcasm while giving an outlet to the male reader for the unique banter and camaraderie that only men share. "Living with Heidi was great. It was like we were married, only better, because we weren't." "The Peace Corps has got nothing on parenthood; trust me. A friend of mine went to Tanzania for three years to teach math, a noble endeavor to be sure, but he still found time to email and update his Facebook page. Elise and I didn't have time to update our clocks after daylight savings time, let alone flit about in any cyber social circles." "Evonne claimed to have official, yet undocumented proof that her beliefs were facts; she just couldn't substantiate it. Her morals were an iron clad dogma, and she expected full well that everyone should see things the way she did."

We should always put our best efforts forward and consider that others do the same. We may feel that others do not respond in kind, but how does that affect us? Positive thinking will give us a better outlook and a happier life.

His poem of Kiss me under the willow tree -Kiss me under the willow tree Melt my heart and set me free Free from bitterness that I regret Of lifelong hopeless until we met I feel so safe in your loving arms.. and If for only one night- which starts with: If for only one night You and I could be together I would make everything right For it to last forever.. Book Description
This little book of poems reveals how the author has dealt with the grief that accompanied the death of his wife of fifty-nine years. The poems are a conversation on the journey through the grieving process, which perhaps has no end. Yes, they are permeated with a deep faith that there is more to life than merely living and dying. At the same time, they are honest responses to how painful it is to lose your life partner. Many of the poems are autobiographical: about first encounter, marriage, life and love together, and death. The actual physical occurrence of death can be readily described by physicians, but its emotional and life effect is much more illusory. Without question, these poems are simply one person’s response to death and grief. They provide no decisive answers on how to respond to either, but if one’s open and honest response can help others address such challenges, so be it. The goal of the author is not to provide steps for the grieving, rather through poetry to share the thoughts of the heart and mind as they grapple with death and grief. He avers that through the very difficult process of grieving, which may never completely end, love alone is the key to healing and renewal.

Book Description
In the introduction I referenced the work of Professor Hani Henry, According to him, chair and associate professor of psychology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology and Egyptology at AUC, Robert Sternberg’s psychological theory covers the most common reasons why we fall in love, namely: intimacy, passion and commitment. But what this entails? We have aspects and needs and wants and these must be addressed properly. These aspects are Biological, Physical, Financial, Occupational, Environmental, Social, Emotional, Cultural, Intellectual, Psychological, Moral and Spiritual. I gathered relevant knowledge and works regarding them. We can fall in love with them.
