I just love sunny days! A: To tell you the truth, I don’t care for them. I don’t want to get dark. D: I do. The sun helps our bodies produce vitamin D. A: Also, it’s boiling when it’s sunny and humid. D: I won’t argue with that. However, it’s so lovely when it’s sunny, dry, and just a little windy. A: Not for me. Rainy days are still the best. D: Really? Why? A: I love the sound of rain, and it makes everything smell so clean and fresh. Part A： 丹尼斯：妳看那萬里無雲的天空，我實在好喜歡晴天！ 愛波： 老實跟你說，我不喜歡晴天。我不想曬黑。 丹尼斯：我倒是想曬黑，陽光能幫助人體製造維他命D。 愛波： 而且晴朗又潮濕的天氣簡直要把人給熱暈了。 丹尼斯：關於那點我沒話說，不過，晴朗乾燥又有微風吹拂的天氣相當怡人。 愛波： 我不覺得。還是下雨天最好。 丹尼斯：是嗎？為什麼？ 愛波： 我喜歡下雨的聲音，而且雨水讓所有的東西聞起來都好清新。 Part B April and Dennis are changing their plans because of the weather. 愛波與丹尼斯因為天氣要更改他們的計畫。 (Dennis = D ; April = A) D: I have some bad news. We have to cancel our picnic tomorrow. A: Why? It’s only a little cloudy. D: Well, I just checked the weather report, and a storm’s coming. A: What? I didn’t hear anything about a typhoon. D: No. I’m talking about a storm with thunder, lightning, and heavy rain. A: Oh, I see. What do you suggest we do? D: I don’t want to take any chances. Let’s put the picnic off. A: OK, if you think that’s the best thing to do. Part B 丹尼斯：我有個壞消息，我們必須取消明天的野餐。 愛波： 為什麼？只是有點陰天而已。 丹尼斯：嗯，我剛剛查了天氣預報，有暴風雨要來。 愛波： 什麼？我沒聽說有颱風啊。 丹尼斯：不是的，我是說有打雷、閃電和豪大雨的那種暴風雨。 愛波： 喔，原來如此。那你建議我們要怎麼做？ 丹尼斯：我完全不想冒險，就把野餐延後吧。 愛波： 好，如果你覺得那是最好的做法。 Part C April and Dennis are preparing for a bad storm. 愛波與丹尼斯在為一場強烈的暴風雪做準備。 (April = A ; Dennis = D) A: Wow! It’s really foggy out. D: It’s only going to get worse, so we need to prepare for the big snow storm. A: Right. We already have warm blankets and new batteries for the flashlights. D: Good. It’s going to be really cold and snowy. A: If it drops down to freezing, then the water in the pipes will turn into ice. D: Correct, so we need to collect and save water for drinking and cleaning. A: OK. I’ll start doing that now. D: Great. I’ll check how much food we have. Part C 愛波： 哇！外面一片霧茫茫的。 丹尼斯：天氣只會愈來愈糟，所以我們要做好準備，迎接強烈暴風雪。 愛波： 對。我們已經有保暖的毯子，也有手電筒要用的新電池。 丹尼斯：很好，天氣會變得很冷，還會下雪。 愛波： 如果氣溫降到冰點，那水管裡的水會結冰。 丹尼斯：是啊，所以我們需要儲水來飲用和清潔。 愛波： 好的，我現在就去儲水。 丹尼斯：好，我去看一下我們有多少食物。
