Book Description
Do you sometimes feel that you are wandering in a wilderness of grief, confusion, and faltering faith? If so, you are not alone. Like the lost children of Israel, many have searched for a way through a personal wilderness. But just as those same Israelites followed God's leading to the Promised Land, you too can find the promised new life in the Spirit. Jamie Buckingham made such a journey – not only figuratively but literally. During a time of intense personal struggle, he traveled to the Sinai. There he found restoration and, in the solitude of a wilderness night, he learned ancient Bible truths that would alter his life forever. Of all the locations Jamie visited during his many trips to Israel, he loved the Sinai desert the most. In this book he shares with you the simple, healing secrets that God first revealed to Moses at the dawn of faith.www.JamieBuckinghamMinistries.com

Book Description
I first learned of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1959 in the first grade of Catholic elementary school. The excitement was unrivaled among the nuns who were our teachers. I remember being shown an article in a magazine brought to the classroom, calling this the most important discovery of the 20th century. That day in 1959 was the first and, very oddly, the last time I heard the scrolls mentioned in Catholic school; or really just about anywhere else. At least, that is, until I happened upon an invitation to attend a seminar in 1992 that promised to provide a comprehensive examination and discussion of the scrolls. The seminar lasted 7 days. The desire it kindled in me to learn more about the scrolls motivated the more than 7 years of research that culminated in A Way in the Wilderness. A A Way in the Wilderness is an attempt to answer and solve the mysteries associated with the scrolls. In so doing, I believe, great insight can be gained into Judaism and Christianity in the ancient world, as well as our own; and a portrait of our Lord Jesus Christ, more detailed and complete than any perhaps previously attempted emerges.

Book Description
James Bishop was convicted and sent to prison for serious offences. With plenty of time on his hands, he rediscovered profound and effective techniques for meditation, through the help of the World Community for Christian Meditation, which does much prison work around the world. He then turned to the Rule of St Benedict and found in it a model and pattern of living which gave him balance and stability and helped to cure his own emotional disorders. This book is aimed at all those who are imprisoned in the modern world - not just prison inmates but all those battling with personal, emotional and psychological difficulties.

Book Description
People of faith are struggling these days as they watch unbelievable events unfold. The United States, once a refuge for immigrants, has closed its borders to many of the world's most vulnerable citizens. Fear of people different from us has created an atmosphere of hatred, incivility, and violence. We are living in a time of wilderness and exile. Yet the wilderness is a familiar place for those who follow Jesus. Like Jesus, we spend 40 days in the wilderness. During Lent God calls us to examine ourselves, repent, and make room in our lives for the Holy One. Walking in the Wilderness is meant to be a companion for readers' journey through Lent. It may be studied by individuals or groups. The book includes daily reflections for Ash Wednesday through Easter. Sunday of each week introduces a spiritual practice for the wilderness. The practices for the six Sundays of Lent are Being Present, Lament, Lectio Divina, Trust, Compassion, and Hospitality. Each reading contains a quotation from an Upper Room resource, a short scripture passage, an insightful reflection and prayer written by Richardson, and a single word for readers to carry with them throughout the day. "We come hungry to this season of Lent," Richardson writes, "hungry for words of life, for rituals of preparation, for disciplines to help us on our way." Walking in the Wilderness provides a spiritual feast for readers during the longest season of the Christian year.

Book Description
The Book of Numbers is a story of identity, wilderness, and God. Numbers continues the historical narrative begun in Exodus, the story of God's people newly freed from Egypt's shackles and wandering toward the promised land. While Numbers accounts for the next 39 years of their wilderness wandering, it's also a story of God's presence among His beloved. Even when they rebelled--and this book tells of many rebellions--God's love and promises remained. It's in that love and those promises the children of Israel found their identity and where we must find ours today. (7 sessions) Features: Leader helps to guide questions and discussions within small groups Personal study segments to complete between 7 weeks of group sessions Interactive teaching videos, approximately 15 minutes per session, for purchase or rent Benefits: Leverage Old Testament truths for your life today.
