Book Description
From the late nineteenth century to the dawn of the civil rights era, the Churches of Christ operated outside of conventional racial customs. Many of their congregations, even deep in the South, counted whites and blacks among their numbers. As the civil rights movement began to challenge pervasive social views about race, Church of Christ leaders and congregants found themselves in the midst of turmoil. In Race and Restoration: Churches of Christ and the Black Freedom Struggle, Barclay Key focuses on how these churches managed race relations during the Jim Crow era and how they adapted to the dramatic changes of the 1960s. Although most religious organizations grappled with changing attitudes toward race, the Churches of Christ had singular struggles. Fundamentally “restorationist,” these exclusionary churches perceived themselves as the only authentic expression of Christianity, compelling them to embrace peoples of different races, even as they succumbed to prevailing racial attitudes. The Churches of Christ thus offer a unique perspective for observing how Christian fellowship and human equality intersected during the civil rights era. Key reveals how racial attitudes and practices within individual congregations elude the simple categorizations often employed by historians. Public forums, designed by churches to bridge racial divides, offered insight into the minds of members while revealing the limited progress made by individual churches. Although the Churches of Christ did have a more racially diverse composition than many other denominations in the Jim Crow era, Key shows that their members were subject to many of the same aversions, prejudices, and fears of other churches of the time. Ironically, the tentative biracial relationships that had formed within and between congregations prior to World War II began to dissolve as leading voices of the civil rights movement prioritized desegregation.

Book Description
These outlines, comprising a five year course of Sunday School lessons through the Scriptures, appeared originally in Faithful Words, a gospel magazine. In response to many requests they are now gathered together in one volume. The reader will observe that one outline appears on each page surrounded by a generous margin upon which the student may place any additional notes and comments resulting from his own study of the lesson, thus enabling him to make these outlines his own. The paper has been specially selected for this purpose. These outlines have been purposely condensed so that they will be merely suggestive and an encouragement to further study, rather than an excuse to avoid that study and preparation so necessary to the teacher and preacher. All the Scripture references should be looked up and well pondered, and their relation to the lesson determined.

Book Description
There is not, nor will there ever be "scientific proof" that evolution is a fact. Evolution is a world view. It is a religion all its own. It uses and misuses terminology such as "natural selection" to gain an audience. To gain funding. Think about it, to make a "selection" requires intelligence. Evolution teaches "possibilities" that are mathematically impossible. It teaches children to believe in the Ortt cloud and Dark Matter - neither of which has ever been observed. If you want to teach sound creation truth, then using this step by step, Bible based teaching tool (specifically designed for teaching Creation Science in the sunday school or children's church setting), will show you how. Using these easy to follow lesson plans you will enable your students to defend creation, and skillfully challenge evolution "bullies" anytime, anywhere. Teachers will find that these lesson plans include enough learning activities to engage k-6th grade students for up to 90 minutes - depending upon the class size and reading abilities. With just a little imagination a teacher could ramp up the lessons to minister to Junior High School students as well. Lessons include a fun beginning activity, a Scripture Look Up portion, (designed to easily motivate students to use their Bibles) as well as an exciting game, or an activity or a science experiment with which to end each session. Suggestions for classroom management is sprinkled throughout, as well as a generous supplemental section that's included in the back. If you are seeking a new way to turn your children's church back to the Bible, then you will find this manual worth it's weight in gold...

Book Description
Imagine being able to be prepared for Sunday School class each week without having to spend hours preparing or researching your topic or discussion. John Warner has taught Sunday School in a small Texas town for over 60 years. He has worked with both teens and adults. When the pandemic hit, he created this study guide by preparing 5 hours each week. The plans have been researched for biblical reference and includes personal stories and examples of how the lessons apply to everyday life. The lessons are designed to engage an audience for anyone who is a worship leader, small group leader, Sunday School teacher or desires to set up a group. There are 4 volumes that cover one year of lessons combined. Each book is broken down to 13 weeks of plans, along with a place to take notes. Each person in the group can have their own version to follow along, read passages, do the exercises that are suggested and discuss the questions outlined. This book is Volume 3 out of 4.
