Book Description
In response to the planned construction of a dam on the Susitna River at River Mile 184, a cultural resources study was conducted in 2012 in order to inventory a sample of known cultural resources within the direct area of potential effect and to assess the time and effort involved with inventorying the total of known cultural resources. The known cultural sites within the area of potential effect include the dam impoundment area and several transportation corridors. Such sites are prehistoric, paleontological, historic and protohistoric. Modeling was done to aid in locating sites. Work planned for the 2013 and 2014 seasons is also described.
