A list of these is given in an Appendix, as certain references have been made to them in published articles under the numbers assigned in 1899. The classification adopted has been primarily by the nature of the inscription, and then, wherever possible, by date: if a group could not be placed in order of time with approximate certainty, an alphabetical arrangement has been used.
