This is not a book for those seeking profound words or thought-out phrases and dialogues. No, it is mainly a story, my story with its many sad, happy, humorous moments, from a short and specific part of my life. A life somehow different to most others, for I was born at a certain time in Chile, South America, where things happened, political events which uprooted me and made me go elsewhere in search of a safer and better life. Instead, I found adventure, friends, lovers and all kinds of interesting people and places. Life itself did not get any better or worse, but fuller, richer and more interesting. I chose to write about those specific seven years of my life, for I believe that in that short period of time, I lived life in full, from riches to rags and again from rags to riches. From a cattle rancher's life in South America, to a top international male model's life in Europe, from a jet setter, to a prisoner in Carabanchel, Spain. Travelling, living and working, in a never ending search for happiness. Always finding an excuse to keep on moving, the country, the work, the people. Different circumstances deciding for me, urging me on, to look elsewhere, in search of that perfect place, the right person, my longed for "Querencia." A home.

This handbook in two volumes offers a heretofore unavailable compilation of detailed information on foraminifera of the Caspian-Black Sea-Mediterranean Corridors (“CORRIDORS”), including their taxonomy, ecology, and applications in the study of Quaternary stratigraphy, paleogeographic reconstruction, and environmental stress. This subject is significant in light of the ongoing debates regarding the Flood Hypotheses because foraminifera can provide more information about many of the disputed questions. Foraminifera are highly reliable paleoenvironmental indicators, ubiquitous in marine environments, and taxonomically diverse, which gives them the potential for a wide range of biological responses to varied environmental factors. Their tests are readily preserved and can record evidence of environmental change through time, thus providing historical baseline data even in the absence of background studies. This book presents taxonomic descriptions for about 500 species and subspecies from the Black Sea, Sea of Azov, Caspian Sea, Aral Sea, Sea of Marmara, and the Eastern Mediterranean. This catalogue is supplemented by ecological remarks, stratigraphic distributions, paleogeography, and environmental/paleoenvironmental applications, including responses to environmental stress, e.g., river discharge, pollution by different contaminants, etc. The book will be useful to specialists in Quaternary history of the “CORRIDORS” as well as those in environmental monitoring and risk assessment. This book reviews the presentation of conjugal relationships in Chinese culture and their perception in the West. It explores the ways in which the act of marriage is represented/misrepresented in different literary genres, as well as in cultural adaptations. It looks at the gendered characteristics at play that affect conjugal relationships in Chinese societal practices more widely. It also distinguishes between the essential features that give rise to nuptial arrangements from the Chinese perspective, looking at what in which Sino and/or Western mentalities differ in terms of notions of autonomy in marriage. It excavates the extent to which marriage is constituted in forms of transaction between female and male bodies and asks under what circumstances wedding ceremonies constitute archetypal or counter-archetypal notions in pre-modern and modern society.
