Book Description
Soft, airy imagery and natures beauty permeate the collection of soulful works found in Rainy Day Poems and More: Angel Inspirations (now available through AuthorHouse), the debut book from Nicole DiDomenico Angelwriter. From the first page of Rainy Day Poems and More, readers catch on to the sense of wonder that DiDomenico makes contagious as she shares her sheer amazement at living. The comfort of a spirit guide on a lonely night, the peaceful presence of a gentle breeze and the fulfilling companionship of a kindred soul are just a few of the experiences she shares through her heartfelt poetry and prose. I would like people to open their mind as well as their eyes, DiDomenico writes. Think of things from another point of view. Try and use the What Ifs of life! Even though our eyes see the same, our hearts interpretations are different. With this in mind, readers are free to take each vivid slice of life she presents and make it their own. She invites them to take a word from her works love for instance reflect on its meaning, apply it to their lives and create their own interactive experience with her poetry. In addition to numerous poems that eloquently portray DiDomenicos thoughts and feelings, she includes a short story, Peace, Love and Light. This powerful piece came to her when three doves landed at her feet while she visited a Buddhist monastery. She completed the story in 10 minutes when she returned home. Rainy Poems and More radiates this same energy and emotion throughout. With grace and artistic prowess, DiDomenico touches the hearts and souls of readers as they enjoy her joy of life through language. DiDomenico has enjoyed writing since she was a child. Throughout her life, she has filled numerous journals, and the tragic events of Sept. 11, which she witnessed from her office window in New York, inspired her to pull them out and revisit her thoughts. In the process, she realized her need to publish her work. DiDomenico has received an Editors Choice Award for her poem, That day in Sept., which was published in a book titled, Inscriptions in Time. She enrolled in a course with LongridgeWritersGroup, where she gained the insight and courage to complete Rainy Day Poems and More, her first book.

Book Description
Set against the tragic events of the Cherokees' removal from their traditional lands in North Carolina to Indian Territory between 1835-1838, Mountain Windsong is a love story that brings to life the suffering and endurance of the Cherokee people. It is the moving tale of Waguli (Whippoorwill") and Oconeechee, a young Cherokee man and woman separated by the Trail of Tears. Just as they are about to be married, Waguli is captured be federal soldiers and, along with thousands of other Cherokees, taken west, on foot and then by steamboat, to what is now eastern Oklahoma. Though many die along the way, Waguli survives, drowning his shame and sorrow in alcohol. Oconeechee, among the few Cherokees who remain behind, hidden in the mountains, embarks on a courageous search for Waguli. Robert J. Conley makes use of song, legend, and historical documents to weave the rich texture of the story, which is told through several, sometimes contradictory, voices. The traditional narrative of the Trail of Tears is told to a young contemporary Cherokee boy by his grandfather, presented in bits and pieces as they go about their everyday chores in rural North Carolina. The telling is neiter bitter nor hostile; it is sympathetic by unsentimental. An ironic third point of view, detached and often adversarial, is provided by the historical documents interspersed through the novel, from the text of the removal treaty to Ralph Waldo Emerson's letter to the president of the United States in protest of the removal. In this layering of contradictory elements, Conley implies questions about the relationships between history and legend, storytelling and myth-making. Inspired by the lyrics of Don Grooms's song "Whippoorwill," which open many chapters in the text, Conley has written a novel both meticulously accurate and deeply moving.

Book Description
In a time of markedly increasing tension between the values and politics of a predominantly Christian West and Muslim Middle-East, Dr Rio Dawson, a paper conservator working in the Chester Beatty Library museum in Dublin, unearths a document which suggests that a book, long thought destroyed, still exists. The book is the kitab al-dhikr al-Ruh, an unique and very early commentary on the Qur' an which is thought to detail the Prophet Mohammed's concept of al-Ruh, or Messenger Spirit and of the similarities, rather than differences, between Christianity and early Islam. Rio recognises the explosive potential of this book and enlists the help of Jerome Augustus Flanagan, a former curator in the Museum and now a freelance expert in sourcing rare manuscripts. He agrees, reluctantly, but before he has a chance to begin there is a break-in at the museum, and a member of staff dies. The recently discovered document disappears and Flanagan and Rio embark on a quest that is soon rendered by passion, deception, danger and unfolding personal tragedy. and the Nightingale and When Twilight Comes, set against the backdrop of Dublin and Istanbul and a unravelling modern world of intense political and religious differences, the deeply intimate philosophical and practical fundamentalism of being, of breathing, of living is continuously contrasted with the alternative of not being at all...
