Book Description
How do you face, and overcome your fears? How do you successfully transition through radical change, epic downsizing, leaving family behind, adjusting to a mobile life, and all the other ups and downs that are inevitable for women on the road? This book is written by a woman nomad, for women, to help get you through the roadblocks that many of us encounter as nomads. Whether you're dreaming, planning, already on the road, or just curious, this book is filled with ideas to help you navigate not only nomadic life, but also, any other life-altering events that may come your way. My name is Mary Ellen Telesha, and I've worked with and for women for over 25 years, first as a patient care advocate in a medical setting, and then as a Life Coach for women in my private life coaching practice. Now as a nomad meeting other women on the road, I see every one of you living extraordinary lives, elegantly and powerfully. All of you just blow me away.As I've sat over the many months writing this book, my heart has welled up for all the women out there dreaming, planning, or living on the road. I'm only one on this journey, with my partner Nancy we make two, but when I reach out with my heart, there you all are. We are a tribe of Wild Women on the Road, and your spirits are shining. Individually, we're being drawn to life on the road as nomads, but the nomadic movement is a bigger vision for women, for all of us. Our inward journey takes a solitary path, but it's that individual vision that connects us all as a tribe.Nomadism as a women's movement is one that's once again changing who we are in the world. It's a movement of freedom, and of knowing what we're capable of accomplishing for ourselves. Nomadism is teaching us we are so much more than what we've been convinced to believe, that our spirits run deeper than they want us to see. Now we're reclaiming that knowledge for ourselves. There are two journeys we take as Wild Women On The Road, one the physical, encompassing the roads we take, the sights we see, and fellow nomads we meet, and one the profound inner journey we take as we discover our wild and untamed selves on the road. This book is written to provide inspiration and guidance to help you navigate the profound inner journey of becoming a nomad, and in turn support your outward physical journey. In these modern times, the authentic woman is rising again in all her fierceness, and one of the ways she's showing up in the world is in the increasing multitudes of women following the call of their wild hearts to live as nomads. If you're reading this, you're among the growing numbers of women feeling the mysterious pull of the nomadic life. This book is written for you, wherever you may be in your life journeys!

Book Description
"As pragmatic as it is compassionate, this intimate, humorous, and ultimately relaxing invitation to re-wild yourself, stripping away all that is not your true nature, will leave you inspired and curious to discover the wild woman within" (Lissa Rankin, MD, New York Times bestselling author of Mind Over Medicine). For the high-achieving modern woman today, having a successful career, a fulfilling romantic relationship, and a satisfying personal life can feel like opposing goals. It has even become difficult to take the time to enjoy the simple pleasures in lives. We are stuck in "go-mode," damaging our romantic relationships, pleasure, and creativity. But what if there were a way to experience the simplest pleasures of our lives on a deeper level, freeing the body and psyche from these destructive patterns? Beyond our current stereotypes about femininity lies the ancient wisdom of the Wild Woman archetype, a model of building a feminine "body intelligence." By embodying this archetype and using tantra--not just in the bedroom, but also to build intimate connections to our senses and physical movements--we can break harmful psychological patterns. In The Wild Woman's Way, Michaela Boehm shares practical rituals and exercises drawn from years of experience as a celebrity relationship and life counselor and an expert in tantric yoga. She reveals the power of different types of touch, while also training you in forms of meditation and stretching that increase activity and sensual pleasure.

Book Description
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • More than 2.7 million copies sold! • “A deeply spiritual book [that] honors what is tough, smart and untamed in women.”—The Washington Post Book World Book club pick for Emma Watson’s Our Shared Shelf Within every woman there lives a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. She is the Wild Woman, who represents the instinctual nature of women. But she is an endangered species. For though the gifts of wildish nature belong to us at birth, society’s attempt to “civilize” us into rigid roles has muffled the deep, life-giving messages of our own souls. In Women Who Run with the Wolves, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés unfolds rich intercultural myths, fairy tales, folk tales, and stories, many from her own traditions, in order to help women reconnect with the fierce, healthy, visionary attributes of this instinctual nature. Through the stories and commentaries in this remarkable book, we retrieve, examine, love, and understand the Wild Woman, and hold her against our deep psyches as one who is both magic and medicine. Dr. Estés has created a new lexicon for describing the female psyche. Fertile and life-giving, it is a psychology of women in the truest sense, a knowing of the soul.

Book Description
A delightful collection of 150 profiles of women who refused to confine themselves to the nineteenth-century Victorian model for proper womanhood. During the Victorian era, a woman’s pedestal was her prison . . . “Women should not be expected to write, or fight, or build, or compose scores. She does all by inspiring man to do all.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson “There is nothing more dangerous for a young woman than to rely chiefly upon her intellectual powers, her wit, her imagination, her fancy.” —Godey’s Lady’s Book magazine But, scores of nineteenth-century American women chose to live life on their terms. In this book you will meet women who refused to remain on a Victorian pedestal. In San Francisco, a courtesan appeared as a plaintiff in court, suing her clients for fraud. In Montana, a laundress in her seventies decked a gentleman who refused to pay his bill. A forty-three-year-old schoolteacher plunged down Niagara Falls in a wooden barrel. A frail lighthouse keeper pulled twenty-two sinking sailors out of the ocean off Rhode Island. A pair of Colorado madams fought a public pistol duel over their mutual beau. Two lady lovebirds were legally wed in Michigan. An ad hoc abolitionist spirited away scores of slaves on the Underground Railroad. A Secessionist spy swallowed a secret message as she was arrested, claiming that no one could capture her soul. Featuring fifty black-and-white photos from the era. Perfect for fans of Women Who Run with the Wolves or Badass Affirmations. Praise for Wild Women “A fantastic read with unforgettable woman from across the world. I love this groundbreaking and fascinating book of wonderful women!” —Becca Anderson, author of The Book of Awesome Women

The longing to express this wild, authentic nature is what informs Reeves’s most popular workshop and now this workshop in a book. Here, you will explore the stages that make up your life, from wild child, daughter/sister/mother, and loves and lovers, to creative work, friendships, and how the wise woman encounters death. Both intuitive and practical, Wild Women, Wild Voices responds to women’s deep need for expression with specific and inspiring activities, exercises, and writing prompts. With true empathy, Reeves invites, instructs, and celebrates the authentic expression — even the howl — of the wild in every woman.

Book Description
A New York Times Book Review Summer Reading Selection “Delves into not only what we eat around the world, but what we once ate and what we have lost since then.”—The New York Times Book Review Two centuries ago, nearly half the North American diet was foraged, hunted, or caught in the wild. Today, so-called “wild foods” are becoming expensive luxuries, served to the wealthy in top restaurants. Meanwhile, people who depend on wild foods for survival and sustenance find their lives forever changed as new markets and roads invade the world’s last untamed landscapes. In Feasting Wild, geographer and anthropologist Gina Rae La Cerva embarks on a global culinary adventure to trace our relationship to wild foods. Throughout her travels, La Cerva reflects on how colonialism and the extinction crisis have impacted wild spaces, and reveals what we sacrifice when we domesticate our foods —including biodiversity, Indigenous and women’s knowledge, a vital connection to nature, and delicious flavors. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, La Cerva investigates the violent “bush meat” trade, tracking elicit delicacies from the rainforests of the Congo Basin to the dinner tables of Europe. In a Danish cemetery, she forages for wild onions with the esteemed staff of Noma. In Sweden––after saying goodbye to a man known only as The Hunter––La Cerva smuggles freshly-caught game meat home to New York in her suitcase, for a feast of “heartbreak moose.” Thoughtful, ambitious, and wide-ranging, Feasting Wild challenges us to take a closer look at the way we eat today, and introduces an exciting new voice in food journalism. “A memorable, genre-defying work that blends anthropology and adventure.”—Elizabeth Kolbert, New York Times-bestselling author of The Sixth Extinction “A food book with a truly original take.”—Mark Kurlansky, New York Times bestselling author of Salt: A World History “An intense and illuminating travelogue... offer[ing] a corrective to the patriarchal white gaze promoted by globetrotting eaters like Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. La Cerva combines environmental history with feminist memoir to craft a narrative that's more in tune with recent works by Robin Wall Kimmerer, Helen Macdonald and Elizabeth Rush.”—The Wall Street Journal
