So though the focus of this book is about the “Wheel Life of Dionte Christian,” who was born with cerebral palsy, uses a wheelchair and survived a vicious attack on his life at just eleven years old, it highlights the resilience of the human spirit. It is about champions of every color, nationality, faith, class and ability which Dionte calls his brothers and sisters. Dionte asked me to write this book for him because he wants to take the pain of his life and struggles, and use it to help others heal. He decided in the Winter of 2020 that his salvation lies in dedicating his life and gifts to the liberation of the disabled, addicted and depressed from the tyranny of feelings of self-defeat, suicidal ideation and loneliness. He knows that in order to maintain his own sobriety and sanity, he must reach out to those who still suffer with the diseases of addiction, mental illness and depression as well as physical challenges. At the same time it is a Public Education Tool meant to inform everyone about how to best respect the dignity of the physically and mentally challenged in a way that includes them and not exclude them. Dionte lives in Westchester, Illinois. He graduated from Proviso West High School 2008. Completed one year study of Computer Technology at Triton Community College 2009. He frequently volunteers at Shirley Ryan’s Ability Lab and has previously been a volunteer at Easter Seals. His goal is to share his faith, hope and experience with others who are struggling with depression, addictions and physical challenges. This study examines the rise of the holiness movement in Georgia following the Civil War. Employing a blend of social and intellectual historical methods, the study pays particular attention to the shifting cultural conditions occurring in Georgia and the rest of the Southeast around the turn of the century and shows how these changes influenced the movement.The study offers two major theses regarding the Wesleyan-Holiness movement in the United States. First the Holiness movement which emerged in the North after 1830 emphasizing the speedy attainment of human perfectibility failed to attract receptive audiences in the South due primarily to the cultural conditions of the region. Southern Christians were deeply affected by the culture of honor and the frequent violence it spawned. Moreover, Southerners were reluctant to subscribe to the Northern formula of Phoebe Palmer's quick and easy means to achieve perfect love when they recognized the ambiguities of the slave system -- a system most Southerners understood as a necessary evil.Second, during the Reconstruction period, at a time when most Southerners were searching for new beginnings, the Wesleyan doctrine of immediately acquired perfect love began attracting widespread support in the Southeast. The study examines the Holiness movement's emergence in Georgia, and demonstrates that contrary to the views of several historians, a significant number of Wesleyan Holiness advocates in the New South were not drawn from the ranks of the dispossessed, but were in fact members of the region's burgeoning middle class.

The oldest surviving written records and structures are from the reign of King Anawrahta (1044–1077). Anawrahta converted to Theravada Buddhism and created a vibrant Buddhist state in the Irrawaddy River basin. Anawrahta is a folk hero to this day in Myanmar and is widely credited as a charismatic and pious leader who consolidated various ethnic groups throughout the region into a single nation. The Wheel-Turner and His House traces the archaeological and historical record of Anawrahta and his seminal position in forming modern Myanmar, based on the few sources that have been recovered. The Great Chronicle, an important history of the country written by the 18th-century Burmese nobleman U Kala, forms the basis for much of the knowledge we have about Anawrahta today. Geok Yian Goh examines U Kala's work in light of the context of U Kala's own time and points out the bias of his royal court, as well as the scribe's personal views from the elaborate narratives he produced. She looks at other sources as well, including unpublished palm-leaf manuscripts, to disentangle earlier knowledge about Anawrahta and eleventh-century Bagan.
