Book Description
Volume I contains an abstract of the actual sexton records of Westfall Cemetery which is located in Knox County, Illinois, near the town of Galesburg. These records show all of the burials from 1845 to the present, along with notations by the caretakers showing dates for birth and death, interrelationships between individual family members, and other special notes. The records show the Westfall family and all 145 related lines including many of the well known families of Knox county such as: Anderson, Arie, Baughman, Blackledge, Cherrington, Cockran, Crouch, Davis, Dawson, Eiker, Eldridge, England, Fields, Flynn, Gibbs, Godsil, Gothard, Haptonstall, Horkstrom, Johnson, King, Larson, Mitchell, Myrick, Newberg, Norburg, Patton, Rice, Sunberg, Swanson, Wagher, Warrensford, Westergreen and Wyman to name a few. The current cemetery lists show only 471 interments; however the author shows that there are actually 660 individuals buried there along with thirty-three reserved plots. This is the only true source for all burials in this cemetery. In addition to the cemetery list, Volume I contains maps and plot-by-plot layouts for all burials within the cemetery. This feature allows researchers to tie family groups together by their actual placement to next of kin. Also included are notes about the head stone condition and where husband and wife, or a family, share a head stone.

The conflicts of the past, come to plague the present, as ancient forces of religion, and science clash, in the sleepy community of Westfall. The ultimate victim in this battle, may be humanity. The prize these forces seek, is nothing less than control of the human mind. For generations, the mysterious Society has worked toward this single goal, using the religious cabal, the Congregation, as it’s foot soldiers. Now, the Congregation has plans of it’s own, revenge. As these two forces are propelled toward a final showdown, violence flares, threatening the lives of the inhabitants, and the country. Local attorney, James Ellis is drawn into this battle, when he impulsively tries to save the life of a child one night, wondering in the local cemetery. His actions catapult him into the center of the conflict, a maze of revenge, and murder. From the moment he acts, his life, and his world are changed forever. The quiet town, has become a battle field. Desperately, he searches for answers, and a way to stop the violence. The truth, ultimately revealed to him, is not what he expected, or was prepared to accept.
