Book Description
For years, Iranian academics, writers, and scholars have equated national development and progress with the reform of men’s sexual behavior. Modern intellectuals repudiated native sexuality in Iran, just as their European counterparts in France and Germany did, arguing that transforming male identity was essential to the recovery of the nation. DeSouza offers an alternate narrative of modern Iranian masculinity as an attempt to redraw social hierarchies among men. Moving beyond rigid portrayals of Islamic patriarchy and female oppression, she analyzes debates about manhood and maleness in early twentieth-century Iran, particularly around questions of race and sexuality. DeSouza presents the larger implications of Pahlavi hegemonic masculinity in creating racialized male subjects and “productive” sexualities. In addition, she explores a cross-pollination with Europe, identifying how the “East” shaped visions of European male identity.

Book Description
This book provides the detailed information that parents were often uncomfortable explaining to their male children, or perhaps didn't know themselves, that school classes providing sex education somehow failed to mention, and even information that high-school buddies did not seem to know. There will also be ideas that even wives and other long-term partners never encountered before. Every man knows he has the same sexual body parts the other guys have. However, every guy at some level is also convinced that his own situation and what he faces sexually is unique, and that he is therefore somehow different from every other guy. Sex in all its forms always seems to get guys stuck somewhere between the emotions of total terror and unbelievable joy. Each of us possesses a set of unique sexual turn-ons that work for one person but perhaps not for others. For men, turn-ons tend to be heavily focused on the visual, and it usually does not take much for the male-arousal system to spring into action. All many men need to do is see a pretty woman and their sexual-arousal systems are off to-the-races. The system in place that sustains the human species is a most remarkable piece of biological engineering. It has to function well at all sorts of levels beginning with the process of why human beings should be programmed to seek-out and have sex with mates, with the goal of keeping the human species successful over long periods of time. Many men struggle throughout their lives, perhaps through several marriages or other long-term relationships, without ever mastering the finer skills in the art-and-science of lovemaking. Most of these men would have far fewer continuing-relationship issues if they were at all willing to objectively examine their own lovemaking skills. Sexual technique is an important part of this, but it is only a component of the broader set of issues that make relationships work. My advice to a man entering any relationship with a potential sexual partner is to have fun, but proceed slowly, carefully, and deliberately, and do not be afraid to reveal a good deal more about your sexual inner-self than you thought you would. For a man, this is usually about slowing everything down. Slowing down has benefits for both partners in terms of ultimately building a more powerful sexual experience. Learning to appreciate, indeed, learning to enjoy sexuality is the key for dealing with fear, angst and self-doubt. That is the reason I wrote this book. I will take you, the reader, to places you have never been before. So, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Book Description
The Bible has a way of shocking us. If Americans could still blush, we might blush at the words, "Rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love" (Proverbs 5:18-19). But, of course, sin always tries to trash God's gifts. So we can't just celebrate sex for what God made it to be; we have to fight what sin turned it into. The contributors to this unique volume encourage you to do both: celebrate and struggle. This book has something for all-men and women, married and single-from contributors like John Piper, C. J. and Carolyn Mahaney, Mark Dever, Al Mohler, Carolyn McCulley, and others.

Book Description
In the early Islamic world, Arabic erotic compendia and sex manuals were a popular literary genre. Although primarily written by male authors, the erotic publications from this era often emphasised the sexual needs of women and the importance of female romantic fulfilment. Pernilla Myrne here explores this phenomenon, examining a range of Arabic literature to shed fresh light onto the complexities of female sexuality under the Abbasids and the Buyids. Based on an impressive array of neglected medical, religious-legal, literary and entertainment sources, Myrne elucidates the tension between depictions of women's strong sexual agency and their subordinated social role in various contexts. In the process she uncovers a great diversity of approaches from the 9th to the 11th century, including the sexual handbook the Encyclopedia of Pleasure (Jawami' al-ladhdha), which portrayed the diversity of female desires, asserting the importance of mutual satisfaction through lively poems and stories. This is the first in-depth, comprehensive analysis of female sexuality in the early Islamic world and is essential reading for all scholars of Middle Eastern history and Arabic literature.

Book Description
"As Fresh as today’s headlines, as scholarly as cutting-edge research, as clinically useful as any volume can be, Men and Sex is a well-written compendium that is essential reading for academics and clinicians. It is the last word on this most intriguing and socially relevant subject of men and their sexual desires." —William S. Pollack Director, Center For Men, McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School Coauthor of In a Time of Fallen Heroes: The Re-creation of Masculinity "A bold and informative book on a topic too long neglected by psychologists and other social scientists." —Lucia Gilbert Professor of Educational Psychology and Director of Women’s Studies. University of Texas at Austin "This is a truly important book. Turning conventional psychological wisdom on its head, these authors reveal that what we have long considered ‘normal’ male sexuality is, actually, a collage of pathologies — objectifying, nonrelational, aggressive." —Michael Kimmel Professor of Sociology, Suny at Stony Brook Author of Manhood in America: A Cultural History "In this excellent book, Levant and Brooks have taken a courageous and necessary step in exposing the pitfalls for men of nonrelational sex, and offer, in its place, a model of intimate and engaged sexuality. Just as women are learning to embrace their power, men can learn to embrace the nurturant and caring aspects of themselves. Ultimately, both genders will benefit from having a greater range of emotions and behaviors available to them, and their sexual experiences will be more gratifying and complete." —Dorothy W. Cantor Coauthor of Women in Power: The Secrets of Leadership

Book Description
This provocative anthology brings together a diverse group of well-known feminist and gay writers, historians, and activists. They are concerned not only with current sexual issues-abortion, pornography, reproductive and gay rights-but they also raise a host of new issues and questions: How, and in what ways, is sexuality political? Is the struggle for sexual freedom a complement to other struggles for liberation, or will it detract from them? Has the sexual revolution diminished or enriched the lives of women?

Book Description
Years ago I became aware of the need to address the subject of Sex, but I did not feel the intellectual, experiential or contextual capacity to evoke the issue. It is not just about knowing or having experience in something, but about what the Holy Spirit wants you to address, when is the time, what are the tools, how is the topic going to be addressed and what is going to be said. I am talking about an area that we know is taboo, especially if you look at it from a Christian perspective, because talking about sexuality from a humanist or esoteric perspective is not new, but each of these trends has interests that are poorly focused, and fundamental gaps , in some cases even terribly biased. Sexuality must be analyzed from the understanding of the functionality of our organs and senses, the role of the psyche, the spiritual role, the mental role, the emotional role, the evolutionary role, the biological role, the physiological role and the educational role. . What is sexuality? What is behind the sexual practice? What are gender archetypes? What purposes does sex have? Get rid of the idea that sex is a bad thing, whether in a conscious or subconscious sense. God has not created anything bad. It was God who created the sexual subject , not the devil. The evil plagiarizes, do not believe. Don't take sex as a god and a reference either, don't idealize it or prioritize it.
