El presente libro constituye un curso introductorio a la Mecánica Cuántica (MC) y su filosofía. Decimos que se trata de un curso informal porque el lector no debe esperar el rigor que puede encontrar en textos más avanzados de MC. Pero informal no significa que no sea serio, simplemente implica que muchos detalles y demostraciones no esenciales, han sido dejados de lado para favorecer el tratamiento de los conceptos más importantes y hacerlos accesibles a quienes no tengan una formación relativamente avanzada en física y matemática. De todos modos, en un tema como el que nos ocupa un cierto nivel de complejidad matemática es inevitable, pero se espera que las ideas centrales pueda ser seguidas por quienes opten por saltear esas complejidades. Se ha relegado a los Apéndices el análisis más riguroso de algunos temas que, si bien importantes, no son esenciales para la comprensión del texto principal. De todos modos se han incluido para beneficio de quienes deseen avanzar un poco más allá en cuestiones formales y de fundamentación y que a la vez pueda hacer a este libro más útil a los familiarizados con el tema de MC. Estos Apéndices constituyen efectivamente un breve curso sobre aspectos fundamentales de la MC. Por esta razón y para facilitar su lectura, se han reiterado algunos temas que están incluidos en el texto principal.Este libro puede considerarse como una continuación y ampliación del capítulo "Observaciones y Mecánica Cuántica" de mi libro anterior "Introducción a la Filosofía de la Ciencia y la Tecnología", EUDEBA, 2014. Al igual que esa obra, el presente libro, si bien está dirigido principalmente a estudiantes de las carreras de ingeniería y de ciencias físicas, se espera que pueda ser también de utilidad e interés para los estudiantes de filosofía que quieran incursionar en los problemas filosóficos y de fundamentación que plantea la física actual y a toda otra persona con inquietudes en este campo, sin duda uno de los más atractivos en la filosofía de la ciencia actual.
