Book Description
Essay from the year 2021 in the subject Didactics - Theology, Religion Pedagogy, grade: 1.0, Kwame Nkrumah University, language: English, abstract: This present article aims at debunking the popular notion abroad, of a prophet as someone who foretells the future in the manner of someone who has a speed dial to God and is afforded a telescopic view into the future not available to ordinary mortals. A Zambian online newspaper, Zambian Eye, reported that Prophet T B Joshua was able to prophesy the enmity between President Edgar Lungu of Zambia and his nemesis, Hakainde Hichilema after the death in office of the incumbent, Michael Chilufya Sata. But prophetic revelations know no bounds. Their predictions range from predicting who in their congregation will be driving a BMW or will be pregnant this time next year, presumably with a little libidinal help from the prophet showing the woman’s husband how to do it while she ecstatically reaches orgasm shouting, “Alleluia” to who will win the elections in the United States because God is really bothered about the political affiliation of US presidents because of the country’s privilege of exceptionalism. The paper tries to show that all this nouveau prophetism is a misunderstanding of the office of prophet in both the Hebrew Bible and Christian Bible. Rather than foretell the future, the prophet is someone who forth-tells — tells it as it is — whether about the past, present or future doesn’t matter. In the process, the popularity of modern prophets as God’s merchandisers, usually for personal gain, is discussed. As in the Hebrew Bible and Christian Bible there were always true and false prophets. How to tell the difference, one from the other was the recent conversation I had with my colleague whose niece had been haunted by a modern false prophet. If the truth be told and to be fair to latter-day prophets, the choice is not always binary, that is, either true or false. There are fifty shades of grey in between, to adapt a trope from E.L. James’ erotica of the same title ranging from the genuine to the charlatan or spiritual conman.

Book Description
In this brief treatise, the authors attempt to describe modern false prophets in the light of God's Word. The so-called evangelical but unbiblical messages are also clearly exposed. Instead of recognizing false prophets and preachers for what they are by their evil fruits (Matthew 7:16), some think highly of them. They assume they are genuine and blindly follow them without questioning their credibility. Jesus called them "ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing" (Matthew 7:15). The Apostle Paul calls them "deceitful workers transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:13). The only way to identify such is through their evil fruits which cannot escape the notice of spiritually discerning eyes of those who are truly converted and have God's Holy Spirit dwelling in them. Jesus' call to beware of false prophets based on their evil fruits is redundant if we choose to remain careless by tolerating in our midst such false prophets claiming to be God's anointed servants. Book Description
There is a sense of urgency in which God wants to bring to the congregation s attention that God is aware of the problems plaguing today s church. False prophets are in the pulpits, in control of church finances, stifling the teaching of the Holy Bible s doctrine, and He is clearly aware of how the saints are being misled to believe you must give a finical amount for him to move on their behalf. The scriptures are being taking out of context for their greed and personal gain. The author speaks directly to the false prophets, it is important to confront them about their attitudes, and behaviors, their self-centered lifestyles and choices which have cause them to take advantage of others for their fleshly needs. The Holy Bible speaks about the false prophets repeatedly giving warning of their manipulation tactics. How they will misuse the Holy word of God to lure the saints to believe they are true prophets. Throughout the course of the book, the author challenges them to repent, confess, and turn their lives around. The Holy Bible gives us guidance on how we are to live and how God will hold man accountable for their part in corrupting the church. Also those who follow under the leadership of the false prophet will be held accountable as well for supporting their ministry. The time is drawing near and God is allowing man an opportunity to repent and change from their wicked ways. Warning comes before destruction, for some this will be their last chance to convert over to the Lord side. The church should be about God s business and remember a true prophet has integrity, pure heart and is known by their fruits.

Book Description
The New Testament warns of false prophets in the last days. If there are false prophets, then surely, there must be true prophets we should be following. What is a prophet? The online dictionary states, "A man who is called by God to declare His word to the world. A man who can reveal God's will to His people." What do today's pastors, ministers, preachers, priests and other ecclesiastical leaders claim to do? Reveal God's word and His will. So which ones are the false prophets and which ones are the true prophets? This book looks at historical examples in the Bible to determine how to find God's true prophet and how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints follows the formula found in the Bible. It also boldly declares who the false prophets are while maintaining the notion that "all things that are good and promote good are of God." The book is for seekers of truth who want to know how to decipher the varying messages from Christian leaders of all denominations. Who is revealing God's will and who has a form of godliness but denies the power (2 Tim 3:5.)
