Book Description
"Zohar and the Fox-girl" is the story of a young American intelligence officer who is forced to make a decision during the Korean war that will follow him for the rest of his life. But it is not a war story, for the war is only the stage in which the tale is set. Love is the theme. But love can come in different forms that might conflict with each other. The story has fantasy but is not science fiction, for its magical metaphors are literary devices within a tale of love and sadness. With a little reimagination the reader might see some of his or her own conflicts. All the while, lurking behind the scenes, are the Korean god, Hanunim, and the Korean devil, the Magwee. They have made a Jobian bet on what Zohar might do if given a second chance. A magic mountain, a god, a devil, and a fierce love affair are mixed with history and myth. In the Hebrew language Sefer Zohar means "Book of Splendor" and that translation fits well for our protagonist is a writer. The novel opens with two old men fighting over anything and everything that comes along. But it is soon apparent that they are the best of friends. And by the end of the story their friendship is brought full circle by the telling of Zohar's story. For Sefer Zohar wants all the world to hear of his sadness and his love. The Fox-girl's story must not simply go away. But Zohar cannot bear to write it himself, so his old friend sets out to tell of Zohar and the Fox-girl within a book of splendor.

Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 224
Book Description
In the follow-up to Elisa Medhus's My Son and the Afterlife--"a heartfelt, deeply moving story" (Eben Alexander, New York Times bestselling author of Proof of Heaven)--her son Erik tells his astounding story directly from the afterlife, describing in detail his death, transition, and spiritual renewal. My Life After Death begins on the tragic day when Erik Medhus took his own life. What follows is a moment-by-moment account of the spiritual life he discovers on the other side--told for the very first time in his own words as channeled by medium Jamie Butler and then transcribed by his mother Elisa. Overflowing with his signature honesty and candor, Erik describes more than just a visit to the afterlife. He personally walks us through the experience of dying, transitioning into spirit form, and reveals a detailed look at the life awaiting us on the other side. In this intimate and provocative memoir, crucial questions will finally be answered, including: What does it feel like to die? What is it like to become a spirit? Why and how do spirits communicate with the living? Is there a heaven? Ultimately, Erik's story provides the answers that will help readers find solace and remove the fears surrounding death, showing that love has no boundaries and life does not truly end.

Death Is Not the End
Author: Ines Beyer
Publisher: Balboa Press
ISBN: 1504369858
Category : Self-Help
Languages : en
Pages : 208
Book Description
Do you wonder what happens to your consciousness after your body dies? Are you hoping for or believing in an afterlife, but just arent sure? Would you prefer more evidence that leads beyond religion, mediums, or blind faith? Inside youll discover research that suggests consciousness exists outside the human brain and body; insights out-of-body and near-death experiences can provide; how we continue to live after physical death and what to expect; the three types of deaths (or deactivations) and how they affect our awareness; how we spend the period between lives and the importance of a life mission; and ways to come to peace with leaving this life and letting family, friends, or partners go. Navigating this difficult phase in your life and being able to help your loved ones transition can be challenging. We all have to go through it and this book will assist you! If youre curious about exploring lifes most existential questions and what research is available in this field, perhaps because you had to face a serious illness, an accident, the passing of someone close to you, or harbor any fear of dying, this book is for you (Luis Minero, author of Demystifying the Out-of-Body Experience). Personally, I have walked out-of-body in the afterlife, traveling well beyond the horizon of our perceived physical reality during my own near-death experience. So I know that the concepts of OBE and NDE are valid. I welcome this new model and will use it in my work (Alan R. Hugenot, PhD, author of The Death Experience: What it is like when you die).
