Book Description
From the creators behind the Eisner-nominated Saving Sorya: Chang and the Sun Bear comes another gorgeously-illustrated middle grade graphic novel adventure based on a true story, in which a young conservationist overcomes the odds to save and return an elephant to its natural habitat. While volunteering at a wildlife rescue center near Yok Don National Park in Vietnam, Chang—a young, spirited animal lover—helps rescue an injured and abused Asian elephant named H'Non. For decades, H'Non was forced to haul heavy timber logs and concrete poles at construction sites, and then to carry riders at tourist attractions all day long with no break. While nursing H'Non back to health, Chang is tasked with finding a kind mahout—an elephant trainer—who will teach H'Non how to fend for herself in the wild. Though Chang initially has her doubts about Wat, the young mahout she finds, H'Non takes to him instantly. As her friendships with both H'Non and Wat grow, Chang learns what it takes to give people a chance. . . . And that we’re never too young or too old to make a difference in the world around us. This heartfelt story—filled with breathtaking art and STEM facts galore—is for any young reader, animal lover, and intrepid explorer who’s ready for adventure! **FOUR starred reviews!** *“Stirs the mind and heart the way an elephant quakes the earth.”—Kirkus Reviews

Book Description
During his adult life until his death in 1834, Coleridge made entries in more than sixty notebooks. Neither commonplace books nor diaries, but something of both, they contain notes on literary, theological, philosophical, scientific, social and psychological matters, plans for and fragments of works and many other items of great interest. Shortly after World War II, Kathleen Coburn, formerly of Victoria College in Toronto, rediscovered this great collection of unpublished manuscripts. With the support of the Coleridge estate, she embarked on a career of editing and publishing these volumes and was awarded with many honours for her work, including: a Leverhulme Award (1948), a Guggenheim Fellowship (1953), a Fellowship in the Royal Society of Canada (1958), the Order of Canada (1974) and an honorary doctorate from her own university. Originally projected as a five volume set (each volume consisting of a book of text and a book of notes). First published in 2002. Volume 5 of the Text on the Notebooks of Samuel Taylor Coleridge, spanning from 1827 to 1834. The volume is in two parts, text and notes.

Book Description
Michael Mabius is a young writer who has experienced great success and great failure. He has hobbled a once-soaring literary career with the heavy burdens of too many drugs, too much sex, and the tragic wasting that comes with time-consuming, enervating social interactions among too many friends who are no friends at all. Now, to save himself, he needs two things - to write the great book he has known all his life he must write, and to live once again with the only woman he has ever loved - Susan. But Susan has recently married another man, though Michael refuses to accept this fact. And Michael's creative energies are being poured out in writing dialog for cartoon rodents to say in hopeless films, so he can earn the money to pay for the drugs that provide him with the only traces of warmth left in his world.

Book Description
Set in Lima, the novel tells of a love story whose participants may be the fictional characters of Don Rigoberto. With his usual sly assurance, Vargas Llosa keeps the reader guessing which episodes are real and which issue from the Don's imagination; the resulting novel, an aggregate of reality and fantasy, is sexy, funny, disquieting, and unfailingly compelling.
