The study examines Third World solidarity in Global Politics in Post-Cold War Era (1990-2009), under the platform of the Group of 77 - a coalition of Third World Countries that calling for equity in international economic relations. Among others, the study aims to demonstrate the association between Third World solidarity and their weak political and economic status in international system, and examined the extent to which the Group's coalition had shape international agenda and outcomes. On the basis of the study's objectives, the research question among which were, to what extent can the Third World solidarity be associated with their weak political and economic status in international system?; whether they have acted cohesively and shaped international agenda and outcome of events. The study primarily relied on the secondary data and the sources of the data are libraries and documents. Content analysis procedure is used for the analysis of data. The study employed coalition theory. The thrust of the theory are that: interest has focused on coalition formation in social systems containing actors with conflicting interests; that relationships between superiors and subordinates are

The Third World's attempt to reform the international economic order sprang to prominence in the 1970s with the onset of the New International Economic Order (NIEO) negotiators. The demise of the NIEO, global recession and debt crises in the 1980s have pushed global economic reform initiated by Third World states to the back of the international agenda in the 1980s. Nevertheless, in face of Western indifference and hostility and increased economic differentiation and disparity, the Third World coalition has remained in existence. The Group of 77 (G77) is the central instrument through which the developing countries have attempted to transform international regimes in trade and payments. The G77 articulates the interests of over 100 countries and functions as the principal collective negotiating instrument of the developing world in international development diplomacy.

Decades after the massive student protest movements that consumed much of the world, the 1960s remain a significant subject of scholarly inquiry. While important work has been done regarding radical activism in the United States and Western Europe, events in what is today known as the Global South-Asia, Africa, and Latin America-have yet to receive the requisite attention they deserve. This volume inserts the Third World into the study of the 1960s by examining the local and international articulations of youth protest in various geographical, social, and cultural arenas. Rejecting the notion that the Third World existed on the periphery, it situates the events of the 1960s in a more inclusive context, building a richer, more nuanced understanding of the Global 1960s that better reflects the dynamism of the period. Samantha Christiansen is an instructor at Northeastern University. Her research interests focus on youth and student mobilizations in South Asia and Europe and international Left politics. She has also taught at Independent University Bangladesh. Zachary A. Scarlett is an instructor at Northeastern University specializing in modern Chinese history and the history of radical social movements in the twentieth century.
