Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 There is no question that children need discipline. However, the key to effective discipline is our attitude. Don’t be afraid or take misbehavior personally. When toddlers act out, respond in the moment, calmly, like a CEO. #2 The best way to discipline a child is to respond to his behavior with love, not with pain. Children need rules, but their emotional responses to the limits we set should be allowed.

Book Description
This book was written as a result of the author and his wife spending several years providing for kids who needed a home. There are many, many books written on the subject of Òat riskÓ children and/or foster children. Most, if not all, are written by clinical psychologists or other Ôpeople of learningÕ who believe that they are child advocates. NOT THIS ONE! This one tells it like it really is! After the mandatory hours of ÔtrainingÕ (which were not needed because of raising four birth children and a teenager the boys had adopted) the author and his wife began accepting foster children. The book describes how the foster parent feels about raising foster children (and birth children). He relates from the experiences of a foster dad rather than from a clinical slant. The information, of course, applies to birth children, as well. Much information is presented to assist parents in dealing with the problems of puberty. Case studies are included as well as poems from one of the foster girls and a diary from another foster parent about her dealings with two foster children. The sequel to this book is entitled: 'Never Underestimate the Arrogance or Stupidity of Government' and covers a case in which the foster parents sued Child Protective Services for mistreatment of them as foster parents and one of their foster children. It cost them $10,000 and they were sure they would lose, but they wanted to make a statement about the screwed up system.

Book Description
Raising a child to be respectful is a full-time job. It can be difficult to balance the overwhelming love you feel for your child and the need to discipline them. It is more beneficial for your child when you are a parent that sets boundaries and holds yourself to enforcing the rules. Parental authority describes the responsibilities and duties that a parent has to their child until they reach the age of maturity (18). Parental authority grants you the opportunity to have the final say in what happens to your child and how they will be raised as well as a promise to watch out for their safety and well being. Parental authority also carries the weight of the decisions the parent must make to help their child grow up and navigate the world around them and to become a productive member of society. Raising children to become adults who will be responsible and treat others with respect and kindness is the goal of every parent, which is why it is crucial to know how to bring up well-balanced children who know how to respect you.. This book provides struggling parents with some insights and strategies into how to address a disrespectful child and how to raise children who know how to listen and follow through.

Not Just Bad Kids: The Adversity and Disruptive Behavior Link explores the theory that all behavior makes sense in context. If you understand a person’s frame of reference – their background, history and experience – you can imagine what might be driving their behavior. The book describes the social, cultural and environmental factors that shape the lives of many youths, including early childhood attachment which sets the foundation for how they interact with authority figures. The book also delves into an explanation of conduct disorder which is characterized by persistent, repetitive behaviors that violate the basic rights of other human beings and break rules. Studies have shown that conduct disorder affects 1-4% of adolescents in the United States and oppositional defiant disorder is estimated to develop in approximately 10.2% of children. The presence of DBD is also known to be more prevalent in boys than it is in girls. As there is a growing need to understand why children and adolescent exhibit signs of hostility, defiance and isolation, this book is an ideal resource for this timely topic. Book Description
He's the last thing you'll ever see... Seven-feet-tall. Four hundred pounds. A blood-crusted, rusty steel plate screwed into his skull. But perhaps the most terrifying thing about reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight are the razor-sharp nails on his forefingers, the ones that circle around his victims' eyes just before he takes them. Holed up within the long-abandoned Blackwell Hotel, nine floors of hidden passageways and two-way mirrors that once acted as a playground for the rich and privileged, Jacob's disturbing gaze is now fixed on Kira, Christine, Michael, Tye, Zoe, Melissa, Richie, and Russell -- eight delinquents hoping to shave time off their county jail sentences by performing community service and restoring the building -- and detention officer Frank Williams, the former cop who put a bullet in Jacob's head four years prior. Goodnight sees the sins in their eyes -- he always does -- and he's going to pluck them out, one by one... See No Evil, a violent, bloody account of madness and revenge, is a novelization of the terrifying new thriller from WWE Films and Lionsgate, starring WWE Raw Superstar Kane.
