Excerpt from Theosophy in Relation to Human Life Brothers: - The subject I have chosen for the four lectures to be delivered at our Theosophical Convention this year is one which seems to me eminently suitable for the times in which we find ourselves. For many many years now, alike in the East and in the West, Theosophy has been spreading, has been making its way, has been drawing to itself public attention. We find, as we glance around us, that the meaning of its work is canvassed, that the goal of its work is questioned, that the nature of the work is not understood; and it seems to me therefore that it might be a wise thing to put here, in these Convention lectures, on permanent record what one at least of the workers for Theosophy thinks and sees as to its meaning, as to its goal, as to its work. I would not, in doing this, claim in any way to force on my fellow members an interpretation with which possibly they may not agree, a view from which they may desire to dissent.
