Book Description
The author reports results on the X(3872) from the Tevatron. Mass and other properties have been studied, with a focus on new results on the dipion mass spectrum in X {yields} J/{psi}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} decays. Dipions favor interpreting the decay as J/{psi}{rho}, implying even C-parity for the X. Modeling uncertainties do not allow distinguishing between S- and P-wave decays of the J/{psi}-{rho} mode. Effects of {rho}-{omega} interference in X decay are also introduced.

Book Description
This work summarises the salient features of current and planned experiments into multiquark hadrons, describing various inroads to accommodate them within a theoretical framework. At a pedagogical level, authors review the salient aspects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions, which has been brought to the fore by high-energy physics experiments over recent decades. Compact diquarks as building blocks of a new spectroscopy are presented and confronted with alternative explanations of the XYZ resonances. Ways to distinguish among theoretical alternatives are illustrated, to be tested with the help of high luminosity LHC, electron-positron colliders, and the proposed Tera-Z colliders. Non-perturbative treatments of multiquark hadrons, such as large N expansion, lattice QCD simulations, and predictions about doubly heavy multiquarks are reviewed in considerable detail. With a broad appeal across high-energy physics, this work is pertinent to researchers focused on experiments, phenomenology or lattice QCD.

Book Description
This thesis discusses in detail the measurement of the polarizations of all S-wave vector quarkonium states in LHC proton-proton collisions with the CMS detector. Heavy quarkonium states constitute an ideal laboratory to study non-perturbative effects of quantum chromodynamics and to understand how quarks bind into hadrons. The experimental results are interpreted through an original phenomenological approach, which leads to a coherent picture of quarkonium production cross sections and polarizations within a simple model, dominated by one single color-octet production mechanism. These findings provide new insights into the dynamics of heavy quarkonium production at the LHC, an important step towards a satisfactory understanding of hadron formation within the standard model of particle physics.

Book Description
Particle physics is a science about the symmetries of our world. The Standard Model is the fundamental theory of microworld. Particle dynamics in the Standard Model obeys strict symmetry laws with explicit experimental consequences. Priority problems of particle physics based on the Standard Model are more accurate theoretical predictions, experimental measurements and data analysis, proof of existence or non-existence of supersymmetry, top quark properties, Higgs boson, exotic quark states, and physics of neutrinos. In this collection of articles, many of these problems are discussed. We recommend this book for students, graduate students, and scientists working in the field of high energy physics.

Book Description
In 2003 the X(3872) particle was discovered by the Belle collaboration. Despite results collected since then, the nature of the state still remains unclear. In this contribution we report on new results on properties of the X(3872) state using data collected with CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The dipion mass spectrum and angular distributions are used to determine the J{sup PC} quantum numbers of the state.

Valerio Filippini devoted his life to physics. His scientific contributions were provided in the OBELIX and FINUDA experiments. The FINUDA experiment collected physics data immediately after the roll-in, thanks to the reliability and simplicity of the on-line system designed and assembled by the physicist. This work is dedicated to him.

Book Description
A summary of the Tevatron's measurements and searches for pentaquarks and X(3872) are presented. No evidence for pentaquarks has been observed, while the X(3872) has been confirmed and some characterization has been performed. While the initial measurements are of a simple nature, the X(3872) behaves similarly to the {psi}(2S), suggesting the X(3872) may be a form of unanticipated charmonium rather than a more exotic bound state of D mesons. In addition, a selected number of lifetime measurements of b-quark carrying hadrons are presented. While preliminary, these measurements are becoming competitive in precision with the B factories. These Proceedings end with some interesting measurements of the inclusive Pt and dijet mass cross-sections of b-quark containing jets.

Book Description
The authors present an analysis of angular distributions and correlations of the X(3872) in the exclusive decay mode X(3872) → J/???− with J/? →?+?−. They use 780 pb−1 of data from p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. They derive constraints on spin, parity, and charge conjugation parity of the X(3872) by comparing measured angular distributions of the decay products with predictions for different J{sup PC} hypotheses. The assignments J{sup PC} = 1{sup ++} and 2{sup -+} are the only ones consistent with the data.
