In any case they are not to be interpreted literalistically. As in Ps. 30, the poet probably has primarily in mind his own experiences as an exile in a foreign land. His zeal for the temple service is strong, cf. 7-8, and indicates that he probably lived during the Greek period. For critical notes, cf. 202k-Q, Vol. III.
