Book Description
As a very sensitive girl, moments in my life which touched me deeply were sometimes difficult for me to understand, and even more difficult to express. To cope with the feelings, I found consolation and healing in printing my deepest feelings on paper, which helped me make sense of the confusion or heartache, or would allow me to rejoice in the celebration and good times. My “coping” technique began in high school and helped me through many years of friendships, loves, marriage, divorce, and significant life events. Putting my feelings on paper often allowed me to let go of the pain or heartache, or would lift me up and truly give me strength to carry on. My poetry is what helped me move through all of my early life’s experiences.

The Bridge
Author: Gay Talese
Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing USA
ISBN: 1620409119
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 194
Book Description
For the fiftieth anniversary of the completion of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, a beautifully produced, heavily illustrated edition of Gay Talese's classic history of the iconic structure, now with a new introduction by the author. The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, linking the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island, is an engineering marvel. At 13,700 feet, it is the longest suspension bridge in the United States and the sixth longest in the world. But the sheer size of the bridge is only one part of its complicated, fascinating history. Renowned journalist Gay Talese chronicled the human drama the bridge's completion: from the construction workers high on the beams to the backroom dealing that displaced whole neighborhoods to make way for the bridge, through to the opening of this marvel of human ingenuity and engineering. Now in a new, beautifully packaged edition featuring dozens of breathtaking photos and architectural drawings, The Bridge remains both a riveting narrative of politics and courage and a demonstration of Talese's consummate reporting and storytelling that will captivate new generations of readers.

Book Description
Railway Noise and Vibration: Mechanisms, Modelling, and Means of Control, 2nd Edition provides a complete overview of the state of the art in rail noise and vibration theory and modelling. Book Description
From the author of the “full-throttle thriller” (A. J. Finn) No Exit—a riveting new psychological page-turner featuring a fierce and unforgettable heroine. Three months ago, Lena Nguyen’s estranged twin sister, Cambry, drove to a remote bridge seventy miles outside of Missoula, Montana, and jumped two hundred feet to her death. At least, that is the official police version. But Lena isn’t buying it. Now she’s come to that very bridge, driving her dead twin’s car and armed with a cassette recorder, determined to find out what really happened by interviewing the highway patrolman who allegedly discovered her sister’s body. Corporal Raymond Raycevic has agreed to meet Lena at the scene. He is sympathetic, forthright, and professional. But his story still seems a bit off. For one thing, he stopped Cambry for speeding just an hour before she supposedly leaped to her death. Then there are the sixteen attempted 911 calls from her cell phone, made in what was unfortunately a dead zone. But perhaps most troubling of all, the state trooper is referred to by name in Cambry’s final enigmatic text to her sister: Please Forgive Me. Lena will do anything to uncover the truth. But as her twin’s final hours come into focus, Lena’s search turns into a harrowing tooth-and-nail fight for her own survival—one that will test everything she thought she knew about her sister and herself...
