Book Description
(Chapter 5) Show me the cowards who bow down to environment thinking that they are made of what they eat and must conform to the bed in which they sleep. I do not fall to the bottom like sediment Nor can I be formed like a piece of wax. No, not me; I am made of something greater than that, I am ENERGY! Like the hurricane and the waterspout, let there be no doubt, I twist my environment into my form, with or without consent. I too have my ideas to work out and I pull my stock from the inventory of the universe, the raw material that has been given to me to do with whatsoever I please. With ease, I stamp my seal on molten lava before it becomes rock. So, again you see my environment forms around me not the other way around. I owe nothing to environments, I create my own. I am no drone! I shed environments for others like the Monarch its cocoon. This is MY world I am creating so it MUST come my way and it will. How long it takes to get here depends solely on MY faith, that's for REAL. Reverend King in all his wisdom about faith said it best, and he's not one to second guess; "You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step". Lest you forget, let me remind you who I am, I am ENERGY, as is EVERY man! A hero without a cape; a Vortex launched in chaos to pull his environment into shape! - Alexander Mendoza INTRODUCTION The inspiration for The Secret came from this legendary book! The Science of Getting Rich is the Wallace D. Wattles timeless classic guaranteed to unlock all the wealth you could ever want. [A note from Rhonda Byrne, creator of The Secret] "The opening sentence of Chapter 1 of this timeless little masterpiece says it all: "Whatever may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich." And once I had read it and internalized its simple knowledge, my own life immediately turned around. My television production business started to go from strength to strength. My income levels soared prodigiously. Relationships miraculously healed and marvelous new ones came pouring in from all directions. This is a common experience for people who discover this miracle book. And it will for you too, once you learn and apply its down-to-earth, uncomplicated precepts. This book is the key to prosperity you have longed for. It will change your life. Be aware, as you read it, that it was written almost 100 years ago. Some of the language is a little dated (or "quaint") and you'll need to come to it with an open mind and heart. Remember, though, you are about to discover an exciting new reality. You are about to learn the fundamental principles of wealth creation and life success. Stay with it. As Wallace himself says, trust and believe. Whatever you want in life is right there waiting for you. With this book, it is right in your hands." Enjoy! Rhonda Byrne -Taken from TheSecret.tv Website Author's Preface This book is pragmatical, not philosophical - a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money, who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward. It is for those who want results and who are willing to take the conclusions of science as a basis for action, without going into all the processes by which those conclusions were reached. It is expected that the reader will take the fundamental statements upon faith, just as he would take statements concerning a law of electrical action if they were promulgated by a Marconi or an Edison, and, taking the statements upon faith, that he will prove their truth by acting upon them without fear or hesitation. Every man or woman who does this will certainly get rich, for the science herein applied is an exact science and failure is impossible. For the benefit, however, of those who wish to inves

Intuition in Science and Mathematics
Author: Efraim Fischbein
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 0306472376
Category : Education
Languages : en
Pages : 234
Book Description
In writing the present book I have had in mind the following objectives: - To propose a theoretical, comprehensive view of the domain of intuition. - To identify and organize the experimental findings related to intuition scattered in a wide variety of research contexts. - To reveal the educational implications of the idea, developed for science and mathematics education. Most of the existing monographs in the field of intuition are mainly concerned with theoretical debates - definitions, philosophical attitudes, historical considerations. (See, especially the works of Wild (1938), of Bunge (1 962) and of Noddings and Shore (1 984).) A notable exception is the book by Westcott (1968), which combines theoretical analyses with the author’s own experimental studies. But, so far, no attempt has been made to identify systematically those findings, spread throughout the research literature, which could contribute to the deciphering of the mechanisms of intuition. Very often the relevant studies do not refer explicitly to intuition. Even when this term is used it occurs, usually, as a self-evident, common sense term.

Socioecological Transitions and Global Change
Author: Marina Fischer-Kowalski
Publisher: Edward Elgar Publishing
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 296
Book Description
'In an important contribution to sustainability science, Fischer-Kowalski and Haberl extend the frontiers of contemporary socio-ecological research to articulate a theory of material, energy and land-use transitions across multiple scales based on detailed empirical studies in Europe and Asia. The insights it presents on agrarian-industrial transitions are crucial to understand the potential impact of emerging nations like India and China on global change.' - Aromar Revi, India China Institute, The New School University, US 'This volume represents the culmination of several years of empirical research and refinement of the social metabolism approach. That approach is one of the most exciting and illuminating innovations in the fields of human ecology, industrial ecology, and environmental history. Here the team from Vienna's Institute of Social Ecology shows masterfully how the insights of social metabolism shed light on transitions to high-energy society in Austria, in Britain, and in the world at large.' - J.R. McNeill, Georgetown University, US This significant new book analyses fundamental changes in society-nature interaction: the socioeconomic use of materials, energy and land. The volume presents a number of case studies addressing transitions from an agrarian to an industrial socioecological regime, analysed within the materials and energy flow accounting (MEFA) framework. It is argued that by concentrating on the biophysical dimensions of change in the course of industrialization, social development issues can be explicitly linked to changes in the natural environment. From the historical transition in Europe, to current transitions in developing countries, the book offers a broad and comprehensive analysis of transition processes across scales, from local to national. The comparison of historical and current assessments allows a theory of the underlying patterns of the agrarian-industrial transition to emerge. On this basis, future trends and possible pathways towards (or indeed further departures from) sustainability are discussed. Empirical in character and cautious in its assumptions, this insightful book provides rich and in-depth material for further studies in socioecological research. It will be essential reading for students and researchers of ecological economics, industrial ecology, human ecology, environmental sociology, environmental history, geography as well as land, energy and development studies.

Book Description
Fasting has long been an exercise practiced by those seeking spiritual strength, but here, Wallace D. Wattles asserts the benefits of fasting on physical strength as well. Wattles uses personal experience and firsthand knowledge to drive his theories on how to increase one's health, happiness, and creativity through approaching eating in a different way. In addition to discussing the nutritional content, quantity, and timing of eating, he includes detailed arguments for the benefit of adequate sleep and the importance of deep breathing and fresh air. Wattles stands out from other writers on the subject of health and wellness (both those in 1907 and today) by focusing his conversational and compassionate prose on the simplest principles and common sense, making clear his affirmation that is it possible for anyone to improve his or her own health and happiness without the need for elaborate science.American author WALLACE DELOIS WATTLES (1860-1911) overcame poverty and failure in his life to become a pioneer of the early self-help movement. The New Science of Getting Rich
Author: Wallace D. Wattles
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1416571620
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 210
Book Description
Straightforward and easy to understand, The Science of Getting Rich asserts that all of us -- no matter what our circumstances -- have the ability to obtain enough wealth to live as we desire and to fulfill our purpose in life. Written nearly a century ago and recently rediscovered by Rhonda Byrne, creator of The Secret, The Science of Getting Rich offers clear insight on creating prosperity and the happiness that ensues. There exists a science of getting rich -- and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are also certain laws that govern the process of acquiring means, and once these laws are learned and followed, a person will prosper with mathematical certainty. This book carefully provides the explanation of this science and how these laws function. Each one of us naturally wants to achieve his or her full potential -- this desire to realize our innate talents is inherent in human nature. There is nothing wrong in wanting to become wealthy; in fact, the longing for riches is really the desire for a fuller and more abundant life. The Science of Getting Rich can set you on your way toward reaching this goal.
