This report summarises the policies and practices, either as set out in collective bargaining memoranda or as established by board practice, of a representative sample of school boards in each province on various kinds of leave. The report summaries are in chart form and cover cumulative sick leave, injury on duty, extended leave for health reasons, parenthood leave, leave of absence for study, sabbaticals, professional leave, deferred salary leave, secondment, leave for political purposes, and other special and miscellaneous leaves. The information was gathered through questionnaires returned by 90 school boards across Canada.
