He and his wife, Hykeh, were the parents of six children, all of whom were born in the small village of Revutskoye. Beginning in 1883, members of the family began leaving Russia because of the anti-Jewish persecution. Most of the family settled in Duluth, Minnesota, while others settled in Wisconsin. Descendants live in Minnesota, California, Wisconsin and other parts of the United States.
