Book Description
This book is an attempt to connect science, spirituality and our existence as to why we are here. Many masters, gurus, thinkers, scientists and philosophers have tried to convey to the world their own understandings of life, its purpose, this existence and the Universe. It is as it is.. is the final interpretation. But what can we do.. is why this book is attempted, to try to define and answer the deep questions one has. Questions, whose answers are varied largely and there always was a point of view put forward. What to take and what not to is up to the reader.. but the intention is to create clarity of the thought process. And better it further, so someone else can be enlightened or for that matter relieved with the answers to life’s difficult questions.

Book Description
This book is an introduction to the simple math patterns used to describe fundamental, stable spectral-orbital physical systems (represented as discrete hyperbolic shapes), the containment set has many-dimensions, and these dimensions possess macroscopic geometric properties (which are also discrete hyperbolic shapes). Thus, it is a description which transcends the idea of materialism (ie it is higher-dimensional), and it can also be used to model a life-form as a unified, high-dimension, geometric construct, which generates its own energy, and which has a natural structure for memory, where this construct is made in relation to the main property of the description being, in fact, the spectral properties of both material systems and of the metric-spaces which contain the material systems, where material is simply a lower dimension metric-space, and where both material-components and metric-spaces are in resonance with the containing space. Partial differential equations are defined on the many metric-spaces of this description, but their main function is to act on either the, usually, unimportant free-material components (to most often cause non-linear dynamics) or to perturb the orbits of the, quite often condensed, material trapped by (or within) the stable orbits of a very stable hyperbolic metric-space shape.

Book Description
This book examines racial and ethnic discrimination in the labour markets and workplaces of western Europe. Scholars from ten different countries set out the experience and implications of this exclusion for two main groups: the more established second and third generations of postwar migrant descent, and the 'new' migrants, including seasonal and undocumented workers and refugees, who are vulnerable to extreme exploitation and unregulated working environments. The book finishes by addressing the implications of these issues for trade unions and employers in Europe.

Book Description
"The Hidden Gospel of Matthew: Annotated and Explained takes you into the text to discover the words and events that have the strongest connection to the historical Jesus. What did Jesus really say about the future of the world? What really took place after his crucifixion? Ron Miller reveals the underlying story of Matthew, a story that transcends the traditional theme of an atoning death and focuses instead on Jesus's radical call for personal transformation and social change. This hidden portrait of Jesus at times resembles the sage teacher of the Gospel of Thomas more than it does the redeemer of traditional Christianity, and presents truths consonant with our deepest human experience."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. Book Description
The volume demonstrates the cultural centrality of the oral tradition for Iranian studies. It contains contributions from scholars from various areas of Iranian and comparative studies, among which are the pre-Islamic Zoroastrian tradition with its wide network of influences in late antique Mesopotamia, notably among the Jewish milieu; classical Persian literature in its manifold genres; medieval Persian history; oral history; folklore and more. The essays in this collection embrace both the pre-Islamic and Islamic periods, both verbal and visual media, as well as various language communities (Middle Persian, Persian, Tajik, Dari) and geographical spaces (Greater Iran in pre-Islamic and Islamic medieval periods; Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan of modern times). Taken as a whole, the essays reveal the unique blending of oral and literate poetics in the texts or visual artefacts each author focuses upon, conceptualizing their interrelationship and function. Contributors are: Frantz Grenet, Jo-Ann Gross, Charles G. Häberl, Galit Hasan-Rokem, Reuven Kiperwasser, Ulrich Marzolph, Margaret A. Mills, Ravshan Rahmoni, Karl Reichl, Julia Rubanovich, Shaul Shaked, Raya Shani, Dan Y. Shapira, Maria E. Subtelny, Gabrielle R. van den Berg, Yuhan S.-D. Book Description
Called "poetic and heartfelt" and "powerful" by a Publisher’s Weekly starred review, read about Julie Lindahl's journey to uncover the truth about her grandfather’s history as a member of Hitler's SS elite. This gripping memoir traces Brazilian-born American Julie Lindahl’s journey to uncover her grandparents’ roles in the Third Reich as she is driven to understand how and why they became members of Hitler’s elite, the SS. Out of the unbearable heart of the story—the unclaimed guilt that devours a family through the generations—emerges an unflinching will to learn the truth. In a remarkable six-year journey through Germany, Poland, Paraguay, and Brazil, Julie uncovers, among many other discoveries, that her grandfather had been a fanatic member of the SS since 1934. During World War II, he was responsible for enslavement and torture and was complicit in the murder of the local population on the large estates he oversaw in occupied Poland. He eventually fled to South America to evade a new wave of war-crimes trials. The pendulum used by Julie’s grandmother to divine good from bad and true from false becomes a symbol for the elusiveness of truth and morality, but also for the false securities we cling to when we become unmoored. As Julie delves deeper into the abyss of her family’s secret, discovering history anew, one precarious step at a time, the compassion of strangers is a growing force that transforms her world and the way that she sees her family—and herself.

Book Description
Although proof is seen by most mathematicians as lying at the heart of mathematics, it is rarely explicitly taught at any point in the mathematics curriculum. This is compounded by the fact that within the mathematics and education communities there is no clear definition of or consensus on what actually constitutes proof. In this book a fallibilist approach based on the work of Imre Lakatos is adopted, and proof and proving are set within the context of a form of social knowledge in order to gain insight into the proof-activities of degree level mathematics students.
