Book Description
The Missing Presence, written as a conflict of terms, not in the opinion of this author. For centuries, Christian churches throughout the world have examined scripture and argued the meaning of Christ's words at the Last Supper. Many religious organizations believe that references to sharing the bread and wine were symbolic, not indicative of a continuing sacrifice or sustained presence. Others, like the Catholic Church, teach Christ is a real living presence. To Catholics, the actions of the Last Supper provided a physical manna from which love and hope unite them with Jesus Christ every day of their human existence. Is this concept shared by others? Could it be others also recognize the Real Presence but not in a positive light? The author has prepared a story, a murder mystery, in which varying Christian beliefs of all denominations are brought into question. Its plot engages not only the mind but also the soul of the reader. Solving the whodunit may be the challenge for an investigative mind, but to the author, the crime is not the real agenda. Examine the characters! Can you find someone or some personality you recognize or relate to? The real mystery is to understand the difference between fiction and nonfiction. Did this murder really happen? Do the characters really exist? Are the actions and attitudes of the contributing characters reflective of today's world? In your opinion, if this murder did happen, would the real-life characters play their role as written? In the end, it is you, the reader, who will solve the mystery. For the author, the real mystery to be solved is this: why do so many believers in Jesus Christ fail to recognize His presence while others who are nonbelievers have no problem seeing Him?

Book Description
Are you “leadership material?” More importantly, do others perceive you to be? Sylvia Ann Hewlett, a noted expert on workplace power and influence, shows you how to identify and embody the Executive Presence (EP) that you need to succeed. You can have the experience and qualifications of a leader, but without executive presence, you won't advance. EP is an amalgam of qualities that true leaders exude, a presence that telegraphs you're in charge or deserve to be. Articulating those qualities isn't easy, however. Based on a nationwide survey of college graduates working across a range of sectors and occupations, Sylvia Hewlett and the Center for Talent Innovation discovered that EP is a dynamic, cohesive mix of appearance, communication, and gravitas. While these elements are not equal, to have true EP, you must know how to use all of them to your advantage. Filled with eye-opening insights, analysis, and practical advice for both men and women, mixed with illustrative examples from executives learning to use the EP, Executive Presence will help you make the leap from working like an executive to feeling like an executive.

Book Description
When the people of God returned from exile, they built a Second Temple. "But many of the priests and Levites and heads of father's houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy" (Ezra 3:12). The Second Temple existed from around 516 BC to AD 70 and served as the temple for Jesus and Paul. But the Second Temple was missing five things: the ark of the covenant, the glory, divine fire, the Urim and Thummim, and the prophetic voice. Many people of God are weeping today because they experience a church empty of presence and glory. There is something missing. We have lost the glory of His presence. We no longer carry discernment or speak the prophetic word to the nations. Could the church today be missing the same things as the Second Temple? The church, as the final temple of God, should be the place of His presence and fullness of the Spirit. We should be the fiery voice of discernment and truth. The church must recover what is missing. We can restore what is missing, or we can become the Church of the Missing Five.

Book Description
MORE THAN HALF A MILLION COPIES SOLD: Learn the simple techniques you'll need to approach your biggest challenges with confidence. Have you ever left a nerve-racking challenge and immediately wished for a do over? Maybe after a job interview, a performance, or a difficult conversation? The very moments that require us to be genuine and commanding can instead cause us to feel phony and powerless. Too often we approach our lives' biggest hurdles with dread, execute them with anxiety, and leave them with regret. By accessing our personal power, we can achieve "presence," the state in which we stop worrying about the impression we're making on others and instead adjust the impression we've been making on ourselves. As Harvard professor Amy Cuddy's revolutionary book reveals, we don't need to embark on a grand spiritual quest or complete an inner transformation to harness the power of presence. Instead, we need to nudge ourselves, moment by moment, by tweaking our body language, behavior, and mind-set in our day-to-day lives. Amy Cuddy has galvanized tens of millions of viewers around the world with her TED talk about "power poses." Now she presents the enthralling science underlying these and many other fascinating body-mind effects, and teaches us how to use simple techniques to liberate ourselves from fear in high-pressure moments, perform at our best, and connect with and empower others to do the same. Brilliantly researched, impassioned, and accessible, Presence is filled with stories of individuals who learned how to flourish during the stressful moments that once terrified them. Every reader will learn how to approach their biggest challenges with confidence instead of dread, and to leave them with satisfaction instead of regret. "Presence feels at once concrete and inspiring, simple but ambitious — above all, truly powerful." —New York Times Book Review

Book Description
Professional wisdom has suggested that coaching presence is purely about the coach – how they show up in the room, and what they say and do to support clients to reach their goals. But what if it was about the relational dynamics between the coach and client at an unspoken level? In this book, Tünde Erdös demystifies the power of the non-verbal coaching relationship. Put simply, the body does not lie. Using research from 184 videoed coach-client pairs and exploring their spontaneous interactions at a non-verbal level, we deepen our understanding of how clients navigate uncertainties (including in the coaching room) and how coaches can truly partner with clients to facilitate their goal attainment beyond traditional coaching. This book also reveals that a coach’s full-body presence can sometimes hinder learning and prevent progress towards a goal. Tünde Erdös guides the reader through Integrative Presence, where you will learn how to: •Build awareness of your state of presence •Identify potential coaching blind spots •Recognise when your needs block presence •Practice integrative presence in coaching •Foster effective coaching partnerships An excellent example of how coaching practice has informed research and with a foreword from Erik De Haan, this book will help anyone looking to enhance their coaching effectiveness through closer partnering with clients. "This book includes many high-quality and universal components to help professional coaches to make valuable progress." Book Description
An essential feature of religious experience across many cultures is the intuitive feeling of God's presence. More than any rituals or doctrines, it is this experience that anchors religious faith, yet it has been largely ignored in the scientific literature on religion.Starting with a vivid narrative account of the life-threatening hike that triggered his own mystical experience, biologist John Wathey takes the reader on a scientific journey to find the sources of religious feeling and the illusion of God's presence. His book delves into the biological origins of this compelling feeling, attributing it to innate neural circuitry that evolved to promote the mother-child bond. Dr. Wathey argues that evolution has programmed the infant brain to expect the presence of a loving being who responds to the child's needs. As the infant grows into adulthood, this innate feeling is eventually transferred to the realm of religion, where it is reactivated through the symbols, imagery, and rituals of worship. The author interprets our various conceptions of God in biological terms as illusory supernormal stimuli that fill an emotional and cognitive vacuum left over from infancy. These insights shed new light on some of the most vexing puzzles of religion, like the popular belief in a god who is judgmental and punishing, yet also unconditionally loving; the extraordinary tenacity of faith; the greater religiosity of women relative to men; religious obsessions with sex; the mysterious compulsion to pray; the seemingly irrepressible feminine attributes of God, even in traditionally patriarchal religions; and the strange allure of cults. Finally, Dr. Wathey considers the hypothesis that religion evolved to foster reproductive success, arguing that, in an age of potentially ruinous overpopulation, magical thinking has become a luxury we can no longer afford, one that distracts us from urgent threats to our planet.Deeply researched yet elegantly written in a jargon-free and accessible style, this book presents a compelling interpretation of the evolutionary origins of spirituality and religion.
