He has given up all hope of shattering the curse, and has only disdain for Elle. Unfortunately, the pair can't seem to avoid each other thanks to the meddling of the chateau's cursed servants. Eventually Elle's playful manners and Severin's hidden gentleness draw the pair together. But not all love stories can end that easily. After all, Elle is not what she seems, and Severin's life is placed in danger when hostilities flare between his brother and the monarchs of a neighboring country. When Elle risks everything to save Severin, will he be able to forgive her for her lies?

Book Description
Written by Channel 4 comedy writer Brian Luff, this is a brand new pantomime version of Sleeping Beauty. It follows the traditional story to the letter, but is crammed full of sharply original comedy routines, slick banter and hilarious dialogue. One very special addition to this version is Roscoe, a cheeky, streetwise dog who adds a modern and slightly surreal flavour to many of the scenes. There's also a very funny "Test Your Strength" routine featuring dame and castle butler, and a slapstick "Changing the Duvet" routine which is set to become a panto classic. Book Description
The evil fairy Pernicia has set a curse on Princess Briar-Rose: she is fated to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into an endless, poisoned sleep. Katriona, a young fairy, kidnaps the princess in order to save her; she and her aunt raise the child in their small village, where no one knows her true identity. But Pernicia is looking for her, intent on revenge for a defeat four hundred years old. Robin McKinley's masterful version of Sleeping Beauty is, like all of her work, a remarkable literary feat.

Book Description
With the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989, four decades of separation seemed to have been brought to an end. In the literary arena as in many others, this seemed to be the surprising but ultimately logical end to the situation in which, after the extreme separation of the two Germanies' literatures during most of the period up to 1980, an increasing closeness could be observed during the 1980s, as relations between the two German states normalized. With the opening up of the East in the Autumn of 1989 claims were being made, on the one hand, that German literature had never, in fact, been divided, while others were proclaiming the end of East and West German literatures as they had existed, and the beginning of a new era. This volume examines these claims and other aspects of literary life in the two Germanies since 1945, with the hindsight born of unification in 1990, as well as looking at certain aspects of developments since the fall of the Wall, when, as on East German put it in 1996, rapprochement came to an end.
