John T. Yoder (1840-1922), a member of the Old Order Amish Mennonite Church, was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. He migrated to Lagrange County, Indiana, with his family, ca. 1846. He married Anna Bontrager (1846-1896) in 1863. They had twelve children, 1863-1887. They family moved to Jasper County, Indiana, in 1874 and to Gibson, Mississippi, in 1895. He married 2) Lydia Kaufman Lanz, a widow, in 1903. They settled near Thomas, Oklahoma, in 1904. Descendants lived in Indiana, Kansas, Iowa, Virginia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois, and elsewhere.
